Thrashers lose to the Caps 5-1 and Darryl Sydor gets injured. Great! Thrashers outplayed the Caps in the first 2 period before they themselves got badly outplayed in the 3rd period. Morrow sat out today and will be a game time decision for tomorrow. Richardson is out tomorrow vs San Jose and Sydor is doubtful.

Ducks win! Dipietro with a shutout in a solid all round performance by the team. Tangs with the GWG. Nice to get a few wins in our last 5 or 6 games, seems to be pretty rare to win this year.

Close but no cigar, but looks like we're proving that we can hang with the big boys again. Need a few more wins to get back into the playoff picture, that's for damn sure.
EDIT: Pretty much stayed even with the Bruins, aside from trips to the penality box. The Nords only had 1 powerplay, while the Bruins went 1 for 7. Very responsible game by Boston.

Seems like being out shot is the norm for the panthers in past few days...
I'll be happy with the win, Straka lead the way with 2 points, Wellwood continues to get points for the panthers, wish i knew how many he has gotten with the Panthers. Fernandez was first star in the game. Panthers are finally getting back to the top of the standings after slipping and the last 10 is finally above .500 again.

Avs starting to get it back together after starting to rebuild. Eighth place is still a possibility.

Nice one. Hopefully we can keep winning these close games in regulation instead of friggin OT all the time. With the win and Thrashers loss we are just 7 points out of first overall. I know, I know, he just HAD to play the Jets like 12 times, sheesh.

Ha please!
Season series: 1-0 Thrashers
Record vs conference:
Thrashers: 19-11-4
Bruins: 17-15-4
Thrashers have a game in hand so if you took the 12 pts we got from Winnipeg we'd have 8 games in hand on Boston and would be 5 points back. So we'd have to go 2-5-1 to be ahead.
Thought so.

Flames made their decision to be sellers after this game.
GM Axmann was seen walking along the press box corridor hurling explicit deletives all over the place.
"We're on the cusp of being good but not good enough. I feel like the GM of the NHL Maple Leafs. Time to start fresh. We have good youngsters on the farm that are ready to make the jump. We'll see what we can add over the next few weeks to bump up the CPHL ready and prospect pool and go from there."
Asked if Kipper was heading out of town, the answer was a resounding "NOT A CHANCE. Kipper is the highlight of our season. We will pay him the big money in the off season and keep him as a Flame. Kipper is a good goaltender to build a team around and still win a few games. Kipper will be with us until Pogge and Dubnyk are ready to make the jump to a Number 1 spot."

The Habs are making a serious push for the playoffs. It was unfortunate we had to deal Federov and hopefully it doesn't mess with the chemistry too much. As of today though, we are 5 points back of the last playoff spot. Hopefull Raycroft can keep up his play and we can squeak in there.
I am still open to all deals. I'm willing to buy from teams, but I'm also looking to unload players in the right deal.

So in other words...Kipper will be a Flame forever since those other two guys will never amount to anything!

My appologies for not sending in lines for our game against the Oilers. I've been in another city looking for a place to live and staying with friends so I was away from the internet for longer than expected.
That being said, we managed to pull off a big upset vs. the powerful Coilers and remain in the 7th spot in the Howe Conference. Belfour played great and the 2nd line, lead by Kariya, had a strong game!
Next up is the always dominating Thrashers! We managed a tie last time, so hopefully we can pull off another upset.

Leafs beat Stars 6-1.
Nice turnaround by the Leafs. The offense stayed hot- 5 different goal scorers and a great game by our 2nd line. Meanwhile Lundqvist (5 goals on 18 shots last night) rebounded with a nice game (1 goal on 29 shots).
Let's see if we can keep it going tomorrow.

1051 OILERS 2 SHARKS 4
This was a disappointing result for the Oilers, but it was a close game. The Sharks' go-ahead goal came in the final minute of the 2nd, and they scored an empty-netter in the final minute of the game.
