It doesn't matter what kind of mood you are in or day you are having, just thinking about Magnum PEI is enough to make a person laugh a little bit.

What was the Canadian from LCS... Jerry Dee? Is that his name. He'd be my 3rd.

Can't see a Russell Peters show succeeding. Can't go very far with the same genre of jokes over and over. Plus I don't think he could get a good enough supporting cast they way Seinfeld and Everyone Love Raymond did.

My top 3 are

George Carlin
Chris Rock
Robin Williams

And I'll throw in Jeff Foxworthy in too.

They talk about a variety of topics over a long period of time.

Jim Gaffigan and Daniel Tosh have the best routines I've seen lately. I don't really have a top 3 though.

Russell Peters is pretty mediocre in my mind. His comedy is based on old stupid comedy ideas like "it's ok to beat your kids! damn people and their PC attitudes! my mom beat me and now I'm tough and well-adjusted." Blah blah blah, same thing you here from every 40-something at a dinner party. He's good with race humor but any half-decent comedian is.

Wow, you guys should be ashamed of not picking Jeff Dunham.

Seriously, Russell Peters sounds boring compared to him.

1. Daniel Tosh - Absolutely one of the best for delivery and can also keep a joke going with the best of them.

2. Demetri Martin - Clever as all hell and just really talented.

3. Mike Birbiglia - Really unique delivery, great writing too.

Honorable mention to Patton Oswalt, Graham Clark (one of Vancouver's best) and Nikki Glaser...who is not only hot, but really, really funny.

I'm with Sowa on this one. I'm really into stand-up so to narrow it down to a top 3?

A few of my favourites that have yet to be mentioned:

- Glen "That Canadian Guy" Foster
- Derek Edwards
- Mike MacDonald
- Eddie Murphy (if he was mentioned I missed it, other than wpgflames fan, his post wasn't made when I started typing this)
- Ron White
- Bob Newheart
- Bill Cosby

2. Demetri Martin - dry understated comedian so doesn't get as much pub as loud outrageous ones like Dane Cook

3. Dave Chapelle
