I usually just mute the commercials entirely.

I honestly don't think I have seen it. It's a guy rapping about Subway sandwiches?

The Motorola Razr2 commercial however... that's a different story. I see it probably 3 times in a 30min episode. Not that I'm complaining though, I could watch it over and over again.
is that the one with the karate guy and the smoking hot chick? yes, they could play that on repeat for every single commercial break for every single show as far as i'm concerned

The other one that's getting an insane amount of play lately is that Irish Spring ad.. "Smell like you're worth exploring" ... gag.

I think those people who don't think they've seen it, have seen it but probably space out during it because it's on so often.

It's on at least 5 times within any hockey game on tv..

My new years resolution was to boycott subway for such a horrible commercial. However, like many other new years resolutions, it didn't last and i ended up buying a sub at school ....

Yeah, that commercial is god awful. But am still forced to going to subway because its the only 'fast food' place in Mission that isn't pizza. I guess there's Burger Inn, but its a bit of a walk.

There are a bunch of commercials that just repeatedly release commercials that just piss me off.
-Future shop: The ones with the guy who set up the door so it would play music when people come in, I change the channel every time.
-Panago: Hard hat. Nuff said
-RBC: "Why does my mommy want a second onion from you?" "We were just discussing onions" UGH. Also telling people that they're richer than they think is never a good idea.
-Ford: Never seen a Ford commercial that didn't make me roll my eyes, especially that one where they're like "We have another word for those who refuse to say "can't" and it has a close up of Ford.

And the one that Eastern Girl mentioned, about the insurance. There's several of them and they're all just as bad.

The one I really hate is that ad for insurance I believe, the one at the hockey rink where the girl is questioning the guy about insurance and then she asks if he can make her dad a better hockey player. Drives me crazy. Especially the "Even my shoes, I love my shoes," line, I hate it. Anyone know the one I am talking about?

This is such a bad commercial. Do people even think about the logic behind situations before making commercials? What kind of insurance agent is hanging around their client's wife and kid at a hockey rink? And why is the perv chatting up a 12 year old? So lame.
And I'm no advocate for violence against females, but I want to punch that girl in the face when she says "I love my shoes".

The Subway commercial in question also drives me crazy. That whistling haunts me.

The commercials that really drive me crazy are the Apple vs Microsoft commercials. Since football has been over I haven't seen them much, but they were played relentlessly during NFL games.

Now, anything related to investing and RRSP season drives me up the wall.

The requisite "showing the advisor showing the computer screen (or laptop, if they make house calls...yeah right) to the clients" ensuring there are pretty pie charts on there so that it appears that advisor knows what they are talking about.

Or the advisor meeting with the clients over lunch, of course the advisor taking the bill.

And then the reactions of people, completely shocked that they can retire or send Sohpie to Med School.

Contrast this with the real word, guys in bad suits, at a bank doing there best to move up in the company so they don't have to deal with the majority of the clients who come in who have very little to invest and are heavily in debt, or, the independant brokers, defined by even worse suits hoping to climb over the compeition and you at the same time, wowing you with free pens and using the words hedging and diversity as much as possible, themselves only one bad month away of straight comission from going back to selling used office furniture.

All of them trying to portray them as solid, confident, trustworthy people that become your friends over the years and understand you and your family, and your needs inside out with some innane gift. Garbage. Those who have money and a solid investor, don't need ads to convince them that CIBC of Investors Group is better or more worth it. At the 25-40 age grou that these appear to be targetted at, that $7K a year you MAY be able to squeeze and budget for as you're starting out in a career for RRSP's, requires none of (and will get you none of) these personalized touches these companies are supposedly offering.

My parents have an advisor at CIBC for the past decade since retirement and having a fairly considerable nest egg to manage properly....but they've had 11 different advisors in that time...hardly the bastion of "knowing your client".

Ugh, it's horrible, and played so much.

Right up there with "Do you think Dr. Sophie will make house calls?"

Hell, all CIBC commericals are horrible and played to DEATH.

I hate that commerical so much.

"So, can my parents move in with us or not?"

No, of course they ****ing can't. What are you, stupid?

Yeah, Dr. Sophie makes we want to puke. Did this couple forget that they were planning for her to get into med school all those years? I hope the CIBC rep gets premium pay for dealing with those two ######s.

The Subway one is bad because of the "song". "Bake some bread and add some ham plus some veggies and then DAMN!" It's just awful.

By the time "Sophie" is ready for College, she'll be a bar star, getting railed by 2-5 guys a week.

I spoke out about the Subway commercial a while ago. I am glad others are finally realizing the truth. Only if we work TOGETHER can we truly move towards a better world.

Since I first saw it during that Sidney Crosby vs. Buffalo game on January 1, I would estimate I have watched this commercial tens, if not hundreds of thousands of times. It only gets worse.

I breathed a heavy sigh of relief when they stopped airing the pedophile-at-Scotiabank ad, only to become burdened once again shortly thereafter with the onset of unhappily-married-and-dreading-retirement-because-it-means-more-time-together ad.

Society as we know it is doomed if we don't act.

I'm a temporary boycotter. Subway is currently on my sh1tlist. Which is kind of annoying because I like Subway. Canadian Tire is currently not. But soon they'll start another bombardment of commercials with that Flanders look-alike and they'll be back on the no-go list.

I think I'll go to Quizno's today.

The first time my wife and I saw the subway commercial we both questioned if they chose to do a rap because it was black forest ham.
