Phallic symbol is a building, but at least we don't have a deep valley weaving through our city. Chicks dig gimmicky tongues, and I noticed that Mac-T couldn't wait to feel it. And the greatest outdoor earth on show isn't a gimmick, its the truth.

Yeah, a city adds a little unique art to the entrance. What a bunch of idiots...

Look at those weird tall, skinny statues of people downtown here. Ridiculous...

They need something more spectacular coming into Calgary. Not cheesy but something a little more prominent than the current.

Are you saying that Edmonton is a giant vagina? Isn't that a little extreme? You're insulting half the world with that one.

Your looking at the wrong side of the woman's body on that one.

So you're insulting the entire human race by insinuating that we have something in common with Crapmonton? That's a little rough, bro.

Hideous. I assume they're designed and going to be aligned to point the direction of WEM?

This ranks right up there with them spending of close to a million $ in taxpayers money a few years back researching a slogan to outdo the City of Champions, and settling on...City of Champions.

And, wasting almost $2M, and enraging affected businesses having to change addresses, by changing Calgary Trail North to Gateway Avenue, in a blatant display of the inferiority complex that runs rampant up there at times.

I predict calls of UFO sightings will go up 10000%, especially if those things glow.

Somewhat reminds me of The Simpsons where Springfield gets a monorail, just because. In this case, it appears the "just because" is that this arcitectural firm has someone on city council by the short ones.

Nevermind these structures are from the east and the west entrances. Nothing like wowing the folk coming from Spruce Grove, or, North Battleford.

If that city really wants to impress people from out of town that are being forced to go to Edmonton, as being progressive etc etc, spend that money to provide free transport to and from the airport, or allow commercial jets to once again fly into the municipal airport.

Well, Edmonton does have a sewage treatment plant (I think) at one end of its river valley.

I like 'em, but then, I'm in favor of most public art, so long as it's well executed. These look to be, from the designs at least, well executed.

Or as we like to call it, the lost dutchman's mine which is right in the middle of the windy valley.

True that. And you should see the trail leading up to it. Its a long dirty hike to get there.

North Calgary is expanding so fast they would have to put it in Balzac to make sure it was actually welcoming people to the city in 10 years.
