Off the top of my head here, I'm thinking the city should budget just northward of 800 billion per segment -- bringing the entire job to somewhere around $3.5 trillion. That's certainly palatable, if not affordable. And it should only take 60-70 years to complete.

So yeah, all around, very awesome.
It would certainly solve the problem of urban sprawl... no one would want to be outside of the dome.

Or, we could just empower a new city "Department of Domes", and anyone who complains about the weather, WHOOSH, a permanent individual-sized dome gets slapped over top of 'em and bolted down, so that they slowly (but warmly!) suffocate.

That'll fix the problem, and weed out the riff-raff from BC as well. Win-win!

Yeah, call the EPA guy from the Simpsons movie.

Or Ken King... he could probably do it.

Gah!

Domes are ugly.

I liked the idea in that platform for adding steriods to the water! If everyone was just really really tough, then who cares how cold it is? Lets go bench press some VWs!!!

Pfft to this idea. Then you'd really see house prices in Airdrie drop.

Dude, at least the houses have insulation in Calgary. It's just as cold inside as it is outside here.

I'd love to meet the politician who pulls the trigger on that deal.

What about just putting a block heater on all the street lights?
