They could be related. I googled Dale and they look like they could be related. Dale though looks like he is from BC and Joffery was from Sask, so maybe cousins.

Something else about Lupul that should be noted - he's excellent in the shootout. He's having a bit of an off year this year, according to his stats alone, but I'm excited to have him back in QC.

Lupul missed a non-win. The Mudbugs had won 15 straight games, lost in a shootout, and have won 7 straight since then. Very impressive none the less. The Mudbugs lost their first four home games, but have also won all 18 home games since then.

Why is Quad City signing more defensemen, they just sent a couple down to the ECHL didn't they?
Negrin and Jonsson could join the team next year as well.

Lupul's big and tough like a lot of our guys. But he also has some experience, can run the PP, sees the ice well and keeps his head when things get frantic. We've got a young defense....and not a lot of that other stuff he brings to the table.

Very nice guy and he'll fit in. He definitely deserves a shot! I'm glad to see him back. Friday night just became even more fun!!

Especially with Peeoria calling up Eric Neilson.

Negrin is too young (1989 born). It's either NHL or WHL for him.

A rare case of a Division III college player making it to the AHL.

How do these AHL contracts work, are they two-way contracts, can they be sent down to the ECHL at any time without having to clear some sort of waivers?

It's just a PTO, which is a try out contract. He's still under contract to his Central League team yet. He can be released any time from the PTO and will not have to pass through any waivers. If he's released, he'll be an "AHL free agent" and could sign with another team, but most likely would just get sent back to the Central League.

I don't know much about the Central league, but I was under the impression that the Mudbugs are the class of the league.
