Yeah, Huckabee is my least favourite politician in the US, but good on him for playing along with it. But you just knew from when the feud first started a few weeks ago, that it was going to end up with something like this. I agree Sarichfan, the unscripted (or less-scripted) Conan has been some of his best in years, from the honkeytonk performances, the coin-spinning, the turtle-on-rocket races...

I'm enjoying a lot of the talk shows now - I never liked the overly scripted stuff. I want to see more off the cuff improvised material.

I agree. I think Colbert(who's show I usually love) has been awful without writers, but Conan has really stepped up his game. Although the fact that he actually IS a writer(used to write for SNL and Simpsons) probably helps his case. He's just absolutely off the wall crazy now, I love it(though I miss the beard. He shouldve rocked it out for a while longer).

As for the fight, that was sheer comedic gold. I couldnt believe when Conan walked in on Colbert's show, I started laughing my ass off! I can't wait for when Conan takes over Leno's spot in a couple years, I just hope he doesn't turn all mainstream like Leno is. And I hope he keeps Max Weinberg and the Max Weinberg 7 with him when he does, the chemistry between Conan and Max is awesome.

This was quality tv. It was just nice to see them make appearences on eachothers shows. They are all funny in their own right (although Conan is the funniest)...I wonder if their respective networks had any issues with it?

I thought this was really funny, especially the extremely long, lame-white-guy-fighting montage.

They have successfully turned the writer's strike into an effective running gag.

I agree. It's not that it's been unfunny, but now his true colors really shine through (that he's a Democrat) and that really takes away from it IMO.

Oh totally. He practically almost dropped the streamers when Clinton won the New Hampshire primaries. I think he's zany enough by himself that when complimented with writers he's pure spun comedic gold. But I dont think he's witty enough to handle it on his own. Since the writers left, I find his humour to be very dumbed down to what it was pre-strike. It reminds me of something I'd have laughed at back in junior high, back when Chris Farley/Pauly Shore type humour was all the rage. He seems to just blurt out ridiculous words to try to get a laugh. I really miss pre-strike Colbert.

Craig Ferguson is the best thing on late night TV. I never really gave him a chance until the strike, but he is freakin hilarious and has earned my late night watchings. Conan is just too goofy for me sometimes. I also like how Ferguson can make his entire monologue into one long funny story - as opposed to 10 goofy one liners like Conan. (But I love that red and yellow lever)

Conan's monologue has always sucked. I swear its almost like its one of his gags, its so bad that it makes it funny. The thing I like about Conan is when he tells a joke that he knows bombed(which happens plenty in his monologues), he always rips on how bad of a joke it is.

I've heard Ferguson's money, I've just never given him a chance because his timeslot's opposite Conan.

Ferguson is amazing, his actual show is somewhat lame and he doesn't get the good guests, but his monologue is the entire reason to turn in. Conan and Leno and Letterman just go from one lame joke to a totally different lame joke with the usual rah-rah from the band after each punch-line for about 10-15 minutes.
Ferguson tells you a story for 15 minutes like a super refined stand-up act that it totally continuous. It's bloody hilarious and I can't believe that it's new everyday. Ferguson is also different in how sometimes he'll come out for his monologue and instead of telling a joke, starts talking about something serious, whether it's about 9/11, the death of his father, alcoholism, etc. and just go on and be very sincere.
 A must watch:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7bbaRyDLMvA
The other guys just seem canned and corny compared to Ferguson when he really talks.

ugh, the Daily Show improved 10x the day that Stewart took over. what is he doing now anyway, now that he left the Daily Show to make it "big"?

but back on topic, that "feud" was genius. i watch the Daily Show and Colbert Report every night, but have never been much of a Conan fan. but i've been PVR'ing his show every night now for the past few weeks just to see things escalate. funny how a gimmick they come up with just to waste time during the writers strike ends up being a ratings boom
