Interesting note that NE is actually the 3rd team in NFL history to go 18-1. The difference was the other 2 team's won their last game of the season (84 and 85 Bears and Packers) and we don't hear about them being the greatest teams so we won't hear about the Patriots being close to that either.

As much as I like Brady, can' feel sorry for idiots like Belichek, and the sellout Seau.
As soon as Tyree made that catch, you pretty much could see where this was going. Incredible to have the hand/arm/wrist strength to hold onto a football as your falling with two guys arms in there too.
I actually didn't mind the Giants as the season wore down, but only since they lost that idiot Shockey. The Giants would be smart to ditch that guy...every broadcast the past years, they were transfixed on the guy watching him Hulk out or snap or be a drama queen...and each week it was him sounding off and whining and complaining in the press about this or that. Conicidence that the team seemed to pull it together when he was removed from the equation? Same goes for Tiki Barber.
Maybe Shockey and Tiki can do a relatity show where they whine and complain for all the episodes...this win loooks great on Manning for his defense of himself afer the garbage comments Barber made about him at the beginning of the year.
More respect for both Manning's too...Eli of course in doing what he needed to do to make plays when it really mattered and not getting flustered for the rest of the game as he sees only 7 points on the board. Very poised and calm. A new respect for Peyton too...he looked happier for this win then his own last year.
Plus a little credit has to go out to Hufnagel...he started Manning out on the right foot...and would be a Superbowl champion if the NY press wasn't so hellbent in being out for blood after the average season the Giants had last year, and Coughlin had to cut someone at Christmas to save his own skin going into the offseason last year.
|
Peyton is awesome! It was so nice to see him fist pump after the Tyree touchdown to make it 10-7 and then just jump up and scream when Burress got the go ahead TD with 35 seconds left. In his interview after the game he said Eli is the calmest QB he has ever seen and that he is thrilled for him.

This is why you don't get cocky, I heard on fan960 that Belichick trademarked the phrase 19-0 a couple months back.

It was funny after the game when Giants players told Belichick to trademark the phrase 18-1 and had shirts for him.

great game, just got back. Football gods doing their best work again, slapping Bill for cheating and trademarking 19-0.
Funny how 18-1 signs started coming out of nowhere with 35 seconds left. People were itching to get those out.

Yeah they even made 18-1 shirts because of Belichick's trademarking of 19-0. Strahan and Madison pulled them out and told Belichick to trademark 18-1 but then said 2 other teams already did that. Lol.

Giants stopped the Pats on 3rd and 3 so the Patriots went to go punt on 4th and 3. On that punt, the Giants had 12 guys on the field. One guy quickly ran off and was about 2 inches from getting off the field literally when the Patriots snapped the ball. Giants were challenged for 12 men which was ruled they did have 12 men because that player never got off the field (as I said he was about 2 inches from getting off but didn't), resulting in a 5 yard penalty and a 1st down.

oh wow. ok thanks. I remember back when if you were simply intending to get off the field that was enough.
