Default Michael Moore, pffff

Not sure if any ones seen this amazing video but if you haven't and have the time it is a must see.

basically this video covers everything Moore wants to cover, religion,911..etc.

http://www.zeitgeistmovie.com/

Its streams for almost 2 hours but it's worth every minute.(i just paused it and let it load)

Warning: if your deeply religious and don't want an eye opener don't watch!

Haha, what a simplification (fabrication?) of around 5000 years of history. I wish it was that easy...

that video is such a load of crap. all it takes is some quick googling to disprove almost every claim they try to make about christianity. i'm no fan of religion at all, but if you're going to attack something at least get your facts straight instead of just making stuff up. i didn't make it farther than that in the video because if they're too lazy to do any research for the religion part then i can't imagine the kind of crap they'd spew in the conspiracy theory junk

I've only watched the first 10 minutes or so. Maybe one of these days I'll watch the whole thing. But if it says 9/11 was a government conspiracy then I am not expecting much.

It's a pretty cool video, but I don't have time to listen to the whole thing. Made it as far as the Carlin snippet. Carlin is a talented comedian, but definitely no moral figure - that's for sure. He claims that "religon" has convinced people that there is an invisible man in the sky - which isn't true. In fact, there are hundreds of millions of religious people who are not theists in the traditional sense at all. It is as general as saying that science has convinced people that aliens are visiting Earth. It's a huge leap...

In general, the speaker seems to be talking "at" the audience instead of talking to the audience. I don't find the content offensive, but just the technique. Talking down to people is not effective. The imagary and overall effect is really good though. Whoever made it is talented.

I hate to be nasty, but I've watched or listened to most of this movie and, geez, it is ######ed.

They use a quote from William Jennings Bryan, of all people, to prove some point about the International Banking Conspiracy, but they didn't even get his name right.

And all the unattributed quotes and speeches -- you just can't do that.

It sure covers all the bases though -- it goes from Jesus to thermite to the gold standard to amusement parks to the Lusitania and back again.

Haha oh God, I have a feeling I'm going to cringe when they mention their own "reasons" for World War II. I haven't seen this yet but I've herad of it, don't they also blame 9/11 on a government conspiracy?

Had to watch a beaut of a documentary in some hippy class I was in last semester that basically tried to tie in the creater of IBM as working hand in hand with Hitler, including being involved in the genocide. I seriously almost walked out.

It also got a lot of the facts wrong about the 'enslavement by bankers.' Funny thing is that if you don't buy stupid crap and get into debt you can lend out your own money and earn interest on it. I guess according to the movie when people make money and don't pee it away like idiots they're really enslaving such idiots.

I've watched it numerous times, and it only strengthened my resolve that religion is a farce, 9/11 was an inside job (like many other false flag operations), and the central bank is unnecessary.

And I choose not to look up any debunking theories, because everybody thinks everything can be debunked. Everyone is always wrong, and everyone is always right.

There is no better evidence for a fact than seeing it with your own two eyes. Unfortunately, humans beings are not omnipresent, so we have to make do with what we have and come to our own judgements.

I'll flat out admit that economics and the central bank and the gold standard and all that is beyond me, so bear with me and feel free to correct any mistakes.

According to this International Banking Conspiracy, the International Bankers make (physically print it) all the money, control all the money, give out all the money (at interest of course), call in the money, control the stock markets, make the money policies and pretty much run the show.

But then they cook up, according to the movie, wild situations like World War I (and II) so they can make more money.

So it's kind of confusing to a guy like me. They have all the money to begin with, but they have to orchestrate these elaborate schemes like the assassination of Archduke Ferdinand or the rise of Hitler so they can get their hands on the money that is already theirs.
It doesn't make sense.

I'm about halfway through the video now. On one level, it is very interesting. The ideas are good for story building, but the connections are very loosey goosey. I'd love to see the sources.

The claims about links of Christianity to other religons are not really new. It's pretty widely accepted that the Romans politicized the religon of the regions they conquered. That doesn't mean the religon is wrong, but it does mean that we need to relearn a lot of it - figure out what was changed and what still needs to be discovered. Or it could mean it is wrong... who can really know. They also claim that the crucifiction was just an astrological metaphor, however it is historical fact that the Romans did physically crucify people as a form of capital punishment.

Honestly, and I'm not trying to be mean, but the way they jump from one conclusion to another based on isolated pieces of information reminds me of a friend of mine who has schizophrenia. He's a really smart person, but when he has these episodes, he'll ramble on about things. Music, government, politics, art, history, etc.... and he'll find ways to link almost anything. It's wierd, because many of the links when looked at in isolation make sense, but then when the bigger picture is painted, it ends up being insane. One such episode started when we were talking about music and ended with him telling me that mannequins in store windows were giving him clues about things he should do. Another time he managed to convince himself that Robin's Donuts was part of an evil conspiracy.

I looked that the list of credits. It's a load of unsourced garbage written by untrained people with absolutely no academic clout whatsoever. This is why people teach things out of approved textbooks in school.

I think I'm going to start pushing the local school board and government to create a media interpretation class for junior high/high-school. The amount of naivety people display when viewing different types of media (internet, film, tv) is getting disturbing.

Most of the film would probably be torn to pieces by a 2nd year History student.
