I can't believe no one has mentioned BearShare.

Absolutely the best P2P program I've ever used, ever. It operates on the same Gnutella network as LimeWire and Grokster, etc, so it's able to retrieve not only results of its own, but results that Limewire and Grokster would also find.


Honestly, with a Cable/T1 connection that I have, I'm able to download songs (roughly 5MB each) in less than a minute.

In theory it's legal, but until tested in court it's all theory. If you guys want to be the first in the courts to test the law that's fine, but putting the forum owner in the position of potentially having to do it is unfair IMO.

File sharing in Canada was ruled to be legal in a federal court. You don't need a test case.

Good to know, but that doesn't really change our policy. What if a link posted contained pirated software or movies as well as music? Those aren't protected in the same way.

Plus many of our members are from outside Canada and the CP servers are hosted outside Canada.

Thus the policy of no links. (and thanks to everyone so far for keeping that way)

I have tried bearshare and limewire, but neither worked for me. I could barely find anything and when I did, it would transfer at 5K/s. I have been using WinMX for years now without problems. 5 min song downloads in 5 seconds.
