Ouch!! The Blues laid the boots to the Lightning tonight, winning 8-2.
6 Blues players registered 2 or more points and 7 Blues scored in the one sided affair.
Darcy Tucker gets the Gordie Howe Hat Trick with 2 G 1A and a fight with Brandon Dubinsky
The Blues have won 7 straight and have moved into 4th place over all, just 2 points behind the Oilers for 1st in the West

Well the Ducks tie the Jets, works well as we get a point for pride and they get 1 point closer to the Lightning!
Tanguay and Koivu finally had good nights as they broke out with 3 points each.

Thrashers put in a dominating effort outshooting the Rangers 39-17 and winning the game 6-1. Roloson had a light night. St.Louis and Holmstrom led the way with a pair of goals each. Thrashers now get a day off before they face the Blues.

Preds drop a close one to the Islanders. At least we took out Jagr in the process though...feels like a win!
We played Thibault again, and now we are stuck with both goalies at 99. Mikko Koivu and Anson Carter looked nice together tonight though.

Well bummer, Garon came within 37 seconds of the shut out, but a last minute goal costs us a point. At least we didn't lose in OT like we seem to do quite frequently. Jim Vandermeer with our only goal, and Garon played a really good game for us. For a 76 OV goalie he's actually played really well for my team, especially since a disasterous start where he allowed 5 goals before getting out of the first period in 2 of the first three games he played for us.

Alright folks, we need some more effort here. 6 responses from 26 teams playing tonight isnt good enough. Even if you lose you should still put something up.

Avs fall lose their eighth in a row, this time despite a more spirited effort. Some big names on the Avs' trade block.

I was sound asleep when the sim was up...But I am glad I couldn't comment last night cause I am not impressed with my team. Higgins takes a stupid penalty late and and we lose a point with 36 seconds left. We will not be in the playoffs if we can't earn these hard fought points. This team is the most talented and by far the most frustrating team I have ever had!

Well was expecting the loss due to Zetterberg being on the shelf and Bergeron and Hamrlik seeing little ice time due to fatigue. To get the extra point playing with a weak lineup is great, and probably wouldn't have lost if it hadn't been for a couple stupid penalties in OT.

Leafs beaten 3-2 by Sens.
This was a big game... with the win the Sens broke a tie between the teams and moved into a tie for 5th place in the conference. The Leafs fall into a tie for 7th.
This kind of loss is becoming deja vu. We outshot the other team while keeping the Sens to 20 shots. Can't say we played bad but a loss is a loss. If our goalie had been a touch better or our offense put one more in this game could have gone our way.
Despite how bad we've been over the last 12-15 games, at least most of the losses have been by 1 or 2 goals. Our D is playing well. Maybe we just need to change something up at forward.

Wow the Senators continue to be an Enigma.. Just when I think they have come down to earth they go in a nice little winning streak.
This game had all the elements for a loss. down 2 Dmen, Staal still not 100% Fluery was given the night off after a great game at the All star break. one would think that we would have an excuse to lose..
But no.. the team found a way.. Led by of all people Janne NIINIMAA!! He was named the Games 1st star.. Had a Goal and 2 assists to lead the way. outstanding game for him. The Games 2nd star.. None other than Jay Harrison who has been great since being pressed into action a few games ago.. Hairrison with a goal and an Assist. To complete the Sweep Backup Nolan Schafer was named the games 3rd star.
All around solid effort by the team.
Also note worthy in this game is the fact the for the first time all 3 Staal brothers played in this game... I belive this is a First for the CPHL.

I don't know if Jokinen has brought over the bad luck from the Pens or not because since he has arrived, he and AO have combined for 0 points. Ugly.
This was a game we were hoping to win and failed to. Jokinen is on a fairly short leash now, as he has not impressed Montreal since his arrival.
On a more positive note, we have been pleased with the play of Michalek and Bernier since they have come over. I am high on both of those players and its nice to see them producing for me.

Scoring Winger
|
Well this time against the Penguins I played Legace and won. Manny didn't have a great game (4 goals on 23 shots) but he was bailed out by my high scoring team. Maltby sunk the Pens with his PPG late in the game, for his 5th GWG since joining the team.
With the win, Dallas is now tied for 6th with Phoenix (although the Yotes have a game in hand). Hopefully the Hurricanes beat them tonight.

Well, well, well, the Devils with a 4-2 come-from-behind win ... the indominable Brooks Laich with two goals including the winner and ... Dave Tanabe with three points. I guess someone has to score and there aren't many left on our team to do that.
Vitali Vishnevsky joins Brian Willise, day to day with a hamstring injury, while Ryan "Don't Call Me" Shannon is supended for 3 games for injuring Radek Dvorak's tiny wrists. Boo hoo.

A nice victory tonight over and young up and coming Sabres team. The Kings would like to officially petition the league to move to the Gretzky conference where the team is enjoying a 16-7 record. Who said the Gretzky conference was the best?
