there's a rumour I heard going around, and I just want to squash it (as I can't find it on the internet when I google it, colour me shocked ) that the same psyhic that predicted the Tsunami (again I was unaware that there was a prediction until the rumour) has predicted that a small island will be snowed in for seven days, and the name of this island is Cape Breton.

Now being from, and currently in, Cape Breton I had to laugh. My brother was freaked when he told it to me last night as he was going to bed. I laughed at him, and said not to worry, if he worries too much the Booger Man might get him.

Then my mother said they were talking about it at work all day, and that it was on Oprah.

Now when I go to Oprah's website to prove her wrong, hey what happens? It's about miracles on Earth... no psyhics. (again note the shocked face)

So

anyone see that episode, or hear that rumour?

(mind you if true that means an other week off of class for me, as I won't be able to get to Halifax )

Sydney Metro and Cape Breton county
11:11 PM AST Thursday 24 February 2005

Heavy snowfall warning for
Sydney Metro and Cape Breton county issued

This is a warning that heavy snow is imminent or occurring in these
Regions. Monitor weather conditions..Listen for updated statements.

Blizzard warning for
Sydney Metro and Cape Breton county ended

New indications about the low pressure system that was expected to give blizzard conditions to most of Nova Scotia now indicate that it will track further south than previously forecast. As a result snowfall amounts and wind speeds will be less. All blizzard and most heavy snowfall warnings are cancelled. Heavy snowfall warnings are in effect for Cape Breton where total snowfall amounts of 15 centimetres are still possible by Saturday morning.

Where is Cape Breton?

Its been snowing all week in the Uk which is very unlike this time of year here and i guess it has to go somewhere.

It's a big part of Nova Scotia. Although, from what I gather, Cape Bretoners consider themselves unique. Similar to Vancouver Islanders I guess.

well the whole thread was about being snowed in for 7 days... snow I'm expecting, obviously a hoax, which proves my theory correct that it never was on Oprah.

however

Cape Breton is an island that makes up a large part of Nova Scotia, and we do consider ourselves unique, culturally more like Newfoundland than the rest of mainland Nova Scotia, but still for the most part proud to be Nova Scotian (I know I am anyway, there is a seperation movement that's made up of a few yacko's)
