I'm waiting for the inevitable combination of franchises.
First we had Freddy versus Jason
Then we had Alien vs Predator
Coming in 5 years
Rambo vs Cloverfield
Scene opens in central park, obviously this movie is low budget because the buildings surrounding central park are made of lego.
We see a solitary figure holding a machine gun, he looks to be about 80 and is wearing a really bad made in Edmonton mullet wig.
Its Rambo
We hear a roar coming down the street, the handicam shakes, and turns as we see a huge rubber foot stomping on a obvious hot wheels car. The camera frames Rambo as he fires a long whithering stream of hot .50 cal lead at the monster.
Rambo - "Eh yo, your the disease, and I'm da cure"
The huge rubber foot stomps down on Rambo crushing him into strawberry jelly. The foot comes up and cleans itself off against a rock as the picture fades to black and the credits roll.
Running time 3 minutes, budget $150 million dollars.

Hahaha, well, it didn;t disappoint, so I cant give it a thumbs down. Over the top violence in a ridiculously stupid story. Everything it should have been.
Sly on the 50 cal gun was awesome. Loved the blown off limbs.

Just out of curiosity, does anyone else here believe as I do that First Blood was an excellent film?

Absolutely. It was probably the most realistic of the bunch. And the scenery in and around Hope doesn't hurt.

I was under the impression that it was all filmed in Hope as well, but I recently read that a bunch of it was uncredited and filmed in Stanley Park. Don't know if it's true, but It was the first I had heard about it.

hahah, on imdb's rating system, Rambo is currently in the top 250.....hahaha, I know why its that high, but I thought it was pretty funny to see thing thing have a rating of 8.5.
It will be back down to where it should be, a nice solid 5 within a couple months.

First Blood isn't even a "Rambo" film, it's a Vietnam protest/fugitive art-type movie with great Canadian scenery. Rambo doesn't actually ever kill anyone in that movie by his own hand. In fact, in the original ending, John Rambo commits suicide.
Rambo II and up are all blockbuster action fests. First Blood was a low-budget, more serious movie. It's sort of like Rocky I and then the rest.

Finally an action movie that doesn't pretend to be anything else. I loved it. Best movie I've seen in theatres in a long time.

Honestly, I've seen pornos with a better developed plot.
This movie doesn't even attempt to be anything more than two hours of "guy shoots big weapons". Though, for what it was, it was very well done. If you can accept that Stalone is not a serious actor, it is a fun little, violent movie to watch.
