I need new T-Shirts
I have lots of shirts, too many really, but most are button up Tommy Hilfiger that I can wear to work... but for going to the bar or just hanging out I much prefer T-Shirts... but it has come to my attention, somewhat forcefully I might add, that all my T-Shirts are "Ratty and Gross" and while I do not share that exact sentiment I can objectively see that some of them are looking a little washed out and the necks have been stretched out a bit and kind of flare upwards instead of laying flat against the skin... and so I can grudgingly admit that perhaps it is time to get some new T's
That said, Herein lies the problem, Where does a guy go for decent T-shirts... I'm a XL or sometimes XXL depending on the manufacture, not a huge belly but just big in general and I like my t-shirts loose... I don't want 2 for 10 dollar plain white or black T's either, a cool design or something to make it more than just a plain shirt is a must... while I don't like spending a fortune on a T-shirt if I like the fit and look enough I will spend more. I also like to try on clothing... it all fits so differently so online shopping for clothes is not my favorite thing... you can't tell that some stitching is going to slowly rub your nipple off via the internet...
Where would or do you go for T-shirts in this town??

Winners I guess would have a bunch of different styles - since we don't know what you're into hobby-wise that would be a good place for a lot of selection IMO. T-shirts FTMFW!

I agree. Winners is great for miscellaneous t-shirts as they have several designer brands on a regular basis, some exotic brands, and some everyday brands.
Sportchek is good too when they have sales.

Ya I find Winners to be real hit and miss for the XL's, but your right it has a decent selection...
Anyone have some "off the beaten track" suggestions?

I like American Apparel for T-Shirts. Their pretty basic so it's probably not something that you'd like. It's hard to suggest to someone where to buy their clothes when you have no idea what kind of style they have.

Exactly... if someone is happy with Beer shirts for hanging out, then Walmart and Zellers are the places to go... if not inside a 12pk of beer.
If someone wants sporty... then Sportchek, Sport Mart, Winners, Bay are good places.
If someone wants a more classy t-shirt... then Winners, Tommy Hilfiger outlet, Bay would be my suggestions.
(this is all assuming we're trying to stay on a budget)

So you're the guy who looks out of place and looks like a big overdressed, chachi ######bag all the time?
Winners for sure. The one by Westhills has a solid selection for T-Shirts, Summertime/Fall is by far the best time though for finding that stuff, a lot of winter clothes right now.

huh? I have no idea what this means... maybe thats a good thing...
As for the rest, I don't think you need to know my style... I'm just looking for suggestions of cool T-shirt places, where do you like to go thats a bit different... if I go there and all they have is beer shirts, I hate everything I see or its $190 for a T-shirt I'll leave - no biggy... but I was kinda hoping for some more "Oh hey I never even thought of that!" suggestions... so ya no more with the Winners plz, lol... I got it!

Flames t-shirts are always great. And you can get them in different styles just for hanging out in. They don't all have to be red.

Has to be a fake though. A real one would have a huge honking logo across the front.

alright if you were looking for different suggestions on where to get t-shirts:
American Apparel
H&M
Urban Outfitters
Henry
Karmaloops.com
Threadless.com
You could also go the polo route which can be worn just as casually as a t-shirt:
Lacoste
Le Tigre
Fred Perry
Dior

2nd everything wpgflamesfan mentioned.
American Apparel really is great imo for basics (read plain).
H&M has a wide variety of styles
Urban Outfitters is great for many different brands an styles. You could forsure find somehthing for everyones style there.
Never heard of Karmaloops.com
NOTE: AFAIK american apparel and H&M are the only one that would be available in Calgary. The rest in Edm, the states, and online.
I strongly suggest you get a few polo's, and don't limit yourself to just the brands wpg mentioned.
Looking through my closet, I realize that most of my shopping is done while I'm on vacation, thus most of it is not available in cgy. However the few things that were bought in calgary, come from places such as the source and mission which are skate shops on 17th as well as clothing from other places along 17th. Since they're smaller shops, prices tend to be a bit higher, but 17th seems to have something for everyone down there.
I would seriously recommend taking a gander through Chinook mall and see what you like. Go into every shop inclusing all of the small and big ones. Guaranteed you'll find something you like.
