It's a modeling amp, another solid state one. Do you really want solid state over a tube amp? Get a tube amp for your actual amp and for effects/modeling, get Digitech Pedals or Line 6 Pod to use in addition.
For my needs I dont think I will need a tube amp. Mostly jamming in my basement and playing some smallish venue's thats about it.
I hardly ever play guitar by myself but would rather play with a drummer or partial band. At least a drummer and maybe another guitar.
I need something that will do the trick for me, not be overly heavy as I might have to ship it from place to place as I move around the country. Newfoundland to Nunavut...back and forth.

If you just want to practice or jam with yourself in the basement of your igloo then you can live with a Fender G-Dec and use the drum machine and backing music loop or record yourself and then play with yourself
Cheaper version but more informative video, small enough to be portable for you to go back to NFLD.
Newfoundland to Nunavut!?!?! I can't beleive I missed that, thats going to be some trouble. Such a vast climate change is going to be very hard on your gear, eventually (2-5 years) the paint on your guitar will begin to crack and will look nasty.
Digital amps have a history of being fragile, and with a lower end digital amp like the spider combined with the travel, you would probably kill it within 2 years. The spider will also have hard time being loud enough to play with a drummer, it will also loose alot of tone if you crank it up. I've met alot of guitarists that love digital amps, I think you would too, try looking at the Line 6 series thats a step above the spider.
Hey Hack&Lube...I will not be jamming by myself rater with a drummer for the most part and maybe another guitar player. So I need something around the 100watt mark I am thinking.

There is no way that amp keeps up with a drummer, the spider likely wouldn't either. And a Les Paul studio through that amp, would be like putting Iggy on the 4th line.
In my experience, a 30W tube amp is about as loud as 200W RMS (not tube). I would shoot for at least 150W RMS or 15W tube.

LOL....I just want something loud enough to play with drums. If an Amp can do that and it goes to 11...I'll take it!
The key isn't getting an amp loud enough to handle drums. You need one that can be loud enough with clarity.
When I started out I would toss out my 75w practice amp and put it to "11" and think it was ok. Eventually realized it was not good sound at all. Just a wall of distortion. My suggestion, get an amp that you could preform with, and put it to 6.
I am wondering how would this amp compare vs a 100W solid state amp? Will the tubes make it louder and thus closer to a 100W solid?
50 watts tube would be PLENTY loud for getting over drums... thats what I use! I have that Traynor blue....
when you turn a SS amp up it starts to clip and sound like crap... so you would probally wouldnt be able to go up higher then 60-70 percent of the total volume like foofighter said.
With a tube amp they actually sound WAY better the louder you turn them up... the term overdrive actually comes from overdriving tube amps, and thats what makes that sweet crunch sound.
50 watts tube sounds louder then 100 watts SS.

But compared to a real amp, it's just another modeling one so it'll be crappy if you are hardcore.
I Tried this amp at a guitar store, and it is very versatile.
Sounds very good too (ecspecially the acoustic setting) the drum beats are very realistic and than price is very reasonable.
