Star Trek Site And Teaser Online
http://www.paramount.com/startrek/
Be in awe. I can't wait.
Enjoy.
P.S. As J. J. Abrams loves to do... the site also includes some viral advertising. If you click on the red light beside "under construction" it takes you to an interesting page.

I'm not getting my hopes up, the Star Trek Franchise has been dead to me since the Next Generation movies started up, and then those two pieces of crap in Voyager and Enterprise smelled up the Trek Universe.
This movie is going to have all of the Star Trek Deux Ex Machinia's in it.
time Traveling villians
Techno babble
Over the top villians
And a Kirk replacement. Seriously think about that, there's only one kirk.
I'll probably wait for it to come out on free T.V.

Looks cool so far. Did you move the sliders to change the number on the camera feeds? If you get it around 100%, the picture will be clear.

I wonder how often the site will change, and when camera 3 will start working.
Edit: Something happens if you wait long enough on the camera that doesn't work... I wasn't too impressed.

Bah humbug, supposedly that's the Enterprise being built in Area 51 which is a stupid plot point. The Enterprise should have been built in space. Does that mean the other 12 ships of its class were also built in Area 51? It seems a little silly to bring up Area 51 which was just a UFO-mythos by-word in the 90s.
Funny how in the 23rd century they build starships in ancient American air bases by using 20th century tig welding from the outside!!!

Where are you getting that from? I see no evidence of any of that from anything I have seen or read.
In fact... I have found some evidence that it is not "Area 51". Seems like it is definitely built on ground though.

One of the rumors stated that the Enterprise was built at Area 51. Orci said, "No area 51. That makes no sense. The Earth KNOWS there are aliens. What possible meaning could an area 51 have?"

[T]he second thing is that the Enterprise is not some flimsy yacht that has to be delicately treated and assembled. The idea that things have to be assembled in space has normally been associated with things that don’t have to be in any kind of pressure situation and don’t ever have to ever enter a gravity well. That is not the case with the Enterprise. The Enterprise actually has to sustain warp, which we know is not actually moving but more a warping of space around it.

Next Gen was my favourite ST series. I look forward to this release, although some of the movies have been disappointments.

New cast, new director, new writers, new producers, big budget, early marketing. I hope that can add up to success.

that's why I would actually watch this. Abrams is awesome. Me thinks this is going to be related to Cloverfield, and they are going to fight the monsters home planet. GET READY FOR NAUSEA FEST 2.0!

Yeah, its been done, watch the combat sequences on BattleStar Galactica, they did a lot of work with the shakey cam technology.
You watch the Federation is getting the ship built under contract by the Hanso Corporation, and the drink machines in the cafeteria on deck 10 are supplied by the good folks at Slusho.
Abram's is going to evolve into this decades version of M. Night Shamalamadingdong.
Its going to be all about the twist ending.
Oh look Vulcan males have a Vagina, every 7 years Kirk has to run for his life.

LOL.
Seriously though... that is what made me so optimistic about this movie. Abrams is a great director/producer. He does a lot of things very well and the bottom line is that he makes things that audiences like.

This movie will make no sense unless the sets are made out of cheap cardboard, the uniforms are velour and colored, all the woman's uniforms involve short tight miniskirts. They have the cheesy sound track (da da dum dum dum da da da thump thump thump thump (from the fight scenes in the original series)
Kirk seducing crew members left and fight, spock punching out McCoy, Scotty loaded out of his mind, the cheesey 3d cheesboard, 3-d glasses, all the planets looking the same and all the aliens speaking english. Green dancing girls. Kirk overacting, and A sexy yeoman Rand type walking through the background every five minutes.
Oh and we need Harry Mudd, Bumperless Klingons, a special guest appearance by catwoman. And at least one fight where Kirk unleashes the drop kick of doom.
Otherwise its not a Star Trek OS movie.

I fully expect, nay, demand velour!
In all seriousness, we should expect an upgrade on visuals and things that seemed particularly dated... but for the most part, the uniforms should look roughly the same, the phasers/communicators/tricorders should be the same with much better details and neat tricks... and there better be mini-skirts and beautiful crew women and yeomans!
That first corridor shot wasn't too inspiring... way too BSG, and thats not capturing Star Trek at all. Star Trek was and is meant to be an optimistic view of the future during a time when most people were questioning whether they'd survive the 1960s. It was also designed to make space travel comfortable. The colors in the ship weren't just for color TVs, but to improve the human condition during long voyages. Dark, cramped hallways is not Star Trek... (unless they're going for a shattered universe kind of thing)
It wouldn't be Star Trek TOS without it.

The teaser looks great!
Question, though: Is the name of the movie "Under Construction"? I can't figure if this is an internet propoganda technique or an actual sub-title.

I think its just a catchphase. The movie itself is "under construction" (not even done filming yet), just like the Enterprise is clearly "under construction."
The movie is definitely called Star Trek, with no XI or 11 or catchy one word name attached to it.

I think bumperless Klingons are likely. They actually had an explanation for this in Enterprise. Post-Eugenic Wars foul-up.
Edit: From Wikipedia
In an earlier series of episodes, the Augments, humans grown from genetically engineered embryos from the Eugenics Wars of the late 20th century, were defeated by Captain Jonathan Archer and the Enterprise NX-01 in Klingon space. The Klingon High Council feared that Starfleet was developing armies of Augments and that they would pose a serious threat to the Empire's existence. Even when they were told by the Vulcan High Command that the Augments were created without Starfleet's knowledge or consent, they remained suspicious and so decided to fight fire with fire. The Klingons gained access to the genetic material of the human Augments, and wanted to adapt this genetic engineering to augment their own species. The experiment did not work correctly; at first, subjects did gain increased strength and intelligence, but their nervous systems could not handle the strain and they died. One of the test subjects had a virulent flu, which — combined with the genetic changes wrought by the experiment — became a deadly, airborne plague that spread rampantly across the Empire, from world to world, causing the physical changes to change them into the human-looking Klingons of Kirk's day.
Dr. Phlox of the Enterprise NX-01 formulated a cure for the virus, however not before millions of Klingons were physically altered. And owing to the genetic nature of the virus, these alterations were passed to succeeding generations of offspring.
