Thrashers unbeaten in 17! (14-0-3)
(AP - Atlanta)
The Atlanta Thrashers are now unbeaten in 17 games after a hard fought 3-2 win over the Montreal Canadiens. The Thrashers built a 3-0 lead before the Canadiens scored 2 late goals to make it very interesting in the 3rd period. Brad Stuart led the way with a goal and an assist for the Thrashers. Chris Mason was solid in goal once again while Dwayne Roloson was out with an injury. Roloson was taken off the IR after the game.
Notes: The shots on goal were 29-28 for the Thrashers. Pavel Datsyuk was injured on the 1st shift of the game and is day to day. He will not play tomorrow vs Carolina.
Chris Mason went 7-0-1 while Dwayne Roloson was out with a chest injury.

Panthers were 50% (2 for 4) on the powerplay and 6 on 7 penalty kills were succesful. Panthers scored 4 strait in the first within the 13 minutes before shutting down the opponents. Panthers attempt for a 3rd strait win against the Nordiques tomorrow.

Solid game for the Bolts who have been holding their own in most games as of late. Nice to see that D hold the other team to less than 3 goals for a change too.

With a thin blueline that's a very surprising result - though the Rangers did us a favor starting former Wild Hannu Toivonen in net. Shots were even but he didn't do well.
Markus Naslund 2 goals in his Wild re-debut
Tomas Kaberle back in the lineup with very limited minutes - picks up an assist
Malkin continues to lead the club- another 3 points.
And Jack MF Johnson called up and posts 2 assists and +4 on the evening.

Pens suck...if I am not within striking distance of the playoffs after the 60 game mark I am giving up on the year...this is two frustrating.

Rangers are in game #3 in a 6 game streach with Brunnette and Franzen hurt... Rangers decided to play the backup against the Wild to give Gerber a rest....
Dang Sim.... just as Brunette is healthly .... Williams gets banged up.

Goalies have no endurance. Turco can not play more than 2 games in a row without dropping in CO. Johnson plays one game and drops to 99 before getting tossed from the game for sucking, Turco comes in and faces one shot in the third and drops to 98. Chicago may get to face a rookie tomorrow night as we look past the Hawks and get ready for our game on Tuesday night.

Blues win Again!!!
Sure the streak isn't as impressive as the Thrashers, but the Blues are 12-1-2 in there last 15 games, making them one of the hottest teams in the league.
The Jackets have been tough for us all year, but this time we managed to pull it out in overtime as Mark Smith scores 1:26 into the O.T period.
Blues have one more game to go against the Rangers before getting a much needed day off.

Ducks lose 4-1 but were happy with the play of Montoya. We were expecting a 10-1 blowout playing him against one of the top teams in the league. Hopefully Miller can come back and sneak out a couple wins, we were due for a long cold streak like this at some point.

Preds take the first of a home and home against the Pens. In a battle of two underachieving squads we managed a 3-1 victory. With our recent track record I can only assume that we lose tomorrow by the same score, or much worse!

Fans thought they were in for a big treat of a high scoring game after the score was 1-1 through 6 minutes of play, but that's where the goals ended. Tough battle against the Bruins results in a 1 all draw. With Hossa on the 2nd line nursing an slight injury and only playing 14 minutes the top line of Whitney, Sedin and Afinogenov logged a lot of minutes and helped the Sharks pepper Khabibulin with 33 shots to Boston's 24, but were unable to notch the game winner.
Next up is the Bruins again and you can bet it'll be another close, hard fought battle to the end!

845 CANUCKS 2 OILERS 2 (OT)
Noooooooo!!!!
What a dark day for the Oilers. Nine game win streak snapped. Daniel Alfredsson's nine game point streak snapped (despite his six shots on goal). And most siginificantly Henrik Zetterberg lost to injury for 4-6 weeks! Petr Prucha must pay the price next game.
Martin Biron had what must have been his best game of the season for the Canucks, stopping 44 of 46 shots, about 30 of which came after the game was tied at 2-2 in the middle of the second period.
With Zetterberg on the shelf for the forseeable future, Patrice Bergeron--scorer of the game-tying goal--will be elevated to a scoring line and Niko Kapanen will draw back into the lineup in two days versus the Ducks.
When GM icarus was asked about what to expect from the Ducks in two days, he replied "we have no idea since we have never seen this team before". This despite the two teams having played thrice already this season.

Leafs squeak by Jets, 3-2.
Coming off that terrible streak we need to make sure we win both of these games vs Winnipeg. The first wasn't pretty but at least we got the job done. The offense continues to struggle... we did have 43 shots but no forward managed to score at even strength. It took 2 goals from Niclas Havelid for us to win this one and that's not a good thing. Hopefully we take another 2 points from the Jets tomorrow.

tough weekend for the SAbres, after losing to the Thrashers on Friday the Sabres lost two games in OT over the weekend and are losing ground in the playoff hunt. They also lost their leading scorer, Wolski, to injury on Saturday and coupled with Steen still being less than 100% their already thin top 6 are really in trouble, there are a few minor injuries on the blueline as well, but the likes of Enstrom have slotted in easily there. Yesterday against the Yotes Marc Denis had his 2nd start for the Sabres, and while he still struggled at least this time he picked up a point. Former SAbres legend Vinny Prospal had a hat trick against his old mates. Tomas Fleischmann made his CPHL debut last night, and scored his first goal, while playing on the 4th line. Joffrey Lupul was the Sabres best player Sunday with 3 assisits. Sabres continue their busy schedule today against Dallas.

Wouldn't say that at all. 12-1-2 is equally as impressive. You're doing a great job in St.Louis with your team and that has been noticed around the league.
