I have this one hanging in my daughter's room right now. I change it every so often, but this one is soooo perfect for a teenage child trying to figure it out.

"This must be Thursday. I could never get the hang of Thursdays..."
--Douglas Adams, as Arthur Dent (Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy)

"If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them."
--Henry David Thoreau

"Exigez la liberté comme un droit, soyez ce que vous voulez être."
--Richard Bach, Jonathan Livingston le Goéland

"I have noticed that the people who are late are often so much jollier than the people who have to wait for them."
--E. V. Lucas

"Nice guys finish last, but we get to sleep in."
--Evan Davis

"In love, one and one are one."
--Jean-Paul Sartre

"Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes. Art is knowing which ones to keep."
--Scott Adams

"Life is pleasant. Death is peaceful. It's the transition that's troublesome."
--Isaac Asimov

"In the end, you'll know which people really love you. They're the ones who see you for who you are and, no matter what, will always find a way to be at your side."
--Randy K. Milholland

"The Great French Marshall Lyautey once asked his gardener to plant a tree. The gardener objected that the tree was slow growing and would not reach maturity for 100 years. The Marshall replied, 'In that case, there is no time to lose; plant it this afternoon!'"
--John F. Kennedy

And this one isnt particularly inspirational, but is by far my favorite quote/passage of all time. It's from Moby Dick:

"When beholding the tranquil beauty and brilliancy of the ocean's skin, one forgets the tiger heart that pants beneath it; and would not willingly remember that this velvet paw but conceals a remorseless fang."
--Harman Melville

"What God asks us to lift, he gives us the grace to carry" ~ Roy Lessin

"A good thing never happens only once" - not sure who said it, but it was a line in a TV show a roommate was watching a few years ago that stuck with me. I think it was "Bones".

"The Beatings Will Continue Until Morale Improves!!!"

This is the slogan that I use for the kids soccer team that I coach. Everytime they complain about the beatings, thats a beating.

That'll learn 'em!

One of my favorites, not really inspirational but I feel it has an important message that should never be forgotten:

Quote:
"A society that sacrifices freedom for security deserves neither and will lose both."
- Benjamin Franklin.

Good friends, good books and a sleepy conscience: this is the ideal life.
–Samuel Clemens

There is a theory which states that if ever anybody discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory which states that this has already happened.
–Douglas Adams

Go confidently in the direction of your dreams! Live the life you've imagined. As you simplify your life, the laws of the universe will be simpler.
