The real drag about getting up at 4:30 am is the part where in order to get 8 hours of sleep I'd have to be asleep at 8:30 pm. So, I rarely get enough sleep.

Yeah, that's my problem as well. I was getting up at 5 for a few weeks and it was just impossible to go to be around 9 or 10 on a consistent basis. Still good for you for keeping it up. I assume it's for work though.

It is for work. If I could get up at any time of the day without obligations it would probably be about noon.

Also, for people who have a tough time getting up in the morning when it's cold and dark, this makes a huge difference:

Can set it so it starts brightening anywhere from 15min-1.5hours before you get up. When the alarm finally goes off, you can immediately open your eyes to the light. Makes it 100x easier to get up in the morning. No squinting or anything.

Honestly, the trick is to go to bed before 11 and get the tiniest bit of willpower to roll over in the morning and turn on your bedside light. Even with a bit of light on, it's so easy to roll out of bed.

Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays (when I work out): 5:00am
Wednesdays, Thursdays: 6:00am
Saturdays, Sundays: I maybe "sleep in" until 7:00am.
Curse of the early riser. No matter what time I go to bed, I'll be up by 7:00am.

Usually now I have to get up at around 8-8:30 with my son. If my wife gets up with him and lets me sleep in I would say I usually would wake up at 11.
I don't know how people can get up at 4:30-5. That would kill me. I hate getting up at all let alone having to get up early in the morning.
when I was in school I would usually get up with my wife for about 30 minutes at 7:30 and then go back to bed until 2pm or so. That was a perfect sleep schedule for me.
