You can find me camped outside the local 7-11, Feb. 1st. No one try to get between me and those chips. You've been warned.

For some reason I always had Tahiti Treat with these chips. Won't be the same without them.

I also really miss Thundercrunch Parramessio or whatever.

Hostess introduced orange, grape and cherry chips in the mid-1970s:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hostess_Potato_Chips

In the mid-1970s Hostess decided to expand their lineup and introduced three new flavours, Orange, Cherry and Grape. The attempt was a dismal failure, and the products disappeared from stores only a few months later. The products were so poorly received they remain a topic of derision to this day.

My thoughts exactly.
But I also really hope they brought back thundercrunch. They were ridiculously good.

Dutch Crunch Mesquite BBQ and Crispy Bacon for me. Old Dutch chips are the best...

Hickory Sticks and Kettle Chips Spicy Thai and New York Cheddar with Herbs are also awesome.

I remember the one time I tried those far too vividly. I got the grape, my sister got the orange and neither one of us could stomach more then a couple of either flavour.

Nastiest chip flavours ever!

I'd rather try a rotting cockroach flavour then try Hostess Grape or Orange again.

We get some Old Dutch chips in Ontario now but unfortunately, my favourite, Rave Salt & Pepper aren't available here. Those are incredible. My last trip back from Calgary I must have had five bags in my suitcase.

As far as snacks available in the US that aren't in Canada, my favourite would be the Crunchy Jalapeno-Cheddar Cheetos. They are way better then the Flaming Hot Cheetos.

Have to agree with the Hickory Sticks being underrated as well. Love them.

We are just starting to get Old Dutch here in Ontario, I noticed them last week when I was grocery shopping. Not much flavour variety yet though.

I loved them when I lived in Calgary.

There are a lot of really different flavours of chips over in the UK. I buy them sometimes from a store here that sells imported food from Scotland. Some shrimp flavour chips that are pretty good!

I remember I was smart enough to buy my younger brother a package of the orange chips and then watched carefully as he bit in, then made a horrified face, then spewed 'em back out again. Just smelling the contents of the bag was enough to make you hurl - it smelt like they flavoured it with orange rinds, then added a few fistfuls of toxic waste on top.

I always wondered how those got out of the test marketing phase - surely the universal "I'd rather eat monkey-butt flavoured urinal cakes" reaction was a signal that they weren't going to be a success.

When I was going to school in Ontario I used to get my mom to send Old Dutch chips in the mail. Great to hear they are infiltrating the Ontario market. Lays is so inferior, it is a shame they were virtually all you could get. Well Miss Vickies too, which are alright.

Somewhere they are still making it, because I can purchase it from my local convenience store. It imports all sorts of beverages (where from? US? Hong Kong? Who knows...) that are typically unavailable in Australia such as A&W Root Beer, Dr. Pepper, and yes Tahiti Treat. I might just have to mosey down there and get me some. I'll be reliving my Mr. Soft Drink halcyon days of youth while you suckas will have to drink Yop instead! EDIT: Okay, so it might be Hawaiian Punch. I have to double check.
