Summer Slo-Pitch League/Team

2) will you have another player with you? NO what gender?
3) what area of town do you live in, and is distance a deal-breaker? (if yes, maybe we can get a north team and a south team or something) I live in the South East, and distance isn't a deal breaker
4) are you willing to share the costs of joining the league? (this must be made clear upfront...I can't afford to float a whole team! we'll probably need bases, balls, bats, etc)Depends on the definition of reasonable cost. Also beer. Gave up drinking, but ok
5) other The next month its hard for me to get away from some pretty severe family obligations on the weekend (illness in the family), but don't count me out when the league starts.

Anyways Back to business:

(this must be made clear upfront...I can't afford to float a whole team! we'll probably need bases, balls, bats, etc) Yes (If you go through Calgary sport and social club they supply the bases, bats, and I believe they give you an assortment of soft balls as well). Also beer. YES
5) Weekends are probably the best for me, sometimes my job can take me into the night on weekdays, but if it is a week night or two I can still make it.
6) Can play any position (however I might not be the best underhand slo pitcher)

The diamonds are at the Crescent Heights school, 1019 - 1 Street N.W. West side of the school. Park in the NW corner of the school, the diamonds are right beside it (just SW of the parking lot). We will play in the NE of the two.

I picked up a few sno-pitch balls today, so even if you are new to the sport and someone hits you... it won't hurt!

And as for the previously mentioned Sunday night league at Optimist, I play in that one myself. I believe they run about $1100 or so per team. Carded umpires, fields are groomed and fenced. No need to bring your own bases. Run by Big League Sports. Some VERY good teams in the A and even B groups. If you are just starting out, you might consider trying for a C or D type rec league!

Actually, the weather looks perfect for some fun snowpitch action Saturday. Sunday? Not so nice. So Saturday it is for sure!

Friday night: Cloudy. 60 percent chance of flurries overnight. Low minus 5. Saturday: Periods of snow. High minus 3. Sunday: Sunny. Low minus 18. High minus 12.
