Not too bad a schedule this semester either...start every day at 11 with 2 classes each day.
Doing Goph 375 too. Seems like it's gonna be pretty good, I'd bet by next week, 40% of the class isn't gonna be there.

I found my 400/500 level classes easier than my 200/300 level ones... of course, I was in History/Poli Sci, so really 400/500 level classes just meant you sat around a table and debated.

I felt the same way. I don't think they were easier for me, but they were more engaging due to the subject matter being what I majored in, and not as general. This made it easier for me to put in the effort.

I also found, that by 3rd/4th year you master "how" to do school work, and your study techniques and short cuts alone make things much easier.

I did GOPH 375 last semester. A warning: You will need to actually put some effort in if you want an A. With so many people, the curve is tough to beat if you want an A. Also, I found that going to class was actually important. I had Hildebrand, and he pretty much just wrote the notes down on the overhead that you need to know. I noticed (on exams) there were questions about things not in the textbook. Still, A- isn't so bad, I suppose.

Just finishing up as well.

Opma 407
arky 325
some psych class.

Anyone taken arky? The proff said that it will be hard to get an A, but I have heard otherwise.

I have had this prof in the past and didn't like her at all. She was hard to talk to reasonably, and she wrote very difficult tests for the course I took from her.

I hope you don't get the impression that course gives you an idea what geophysics is about... because it doesn't at all. Any geophysics majors agree with me here?

Thanks redvan. Im assuming you had Kathryn Taylor? Yeah, she seemed very defensive and hostile, and that was just introducing the class. I would like to get a relatively easy a since this is my last semester. Any suggestions? Any thoughts on bio 307 (the bio not for bio majors)?

I am taking phil 349 and it seems like it'll be good. Not sure how the prof will mark. I have not taken the bio class, and I can't take any more sciences so I don't know... but if you haven't taken the geology options or even the goph 375 class, they are pretty easy and fun.

Here's an "in my day" story.

For my first 3 years of UG there was no tunnel between Machall and Science B, so we had to walk outside....that my friends was a struggle.

I'm thinking of switching to Bio 307 as well. In a thread sometime in the past, someone said it was easy, and they never took Bio in high school. I never did either, so would be interested to learn a little something. Mostly, to shore up a weak spot in my Trivial Pursuit knowledgebase.

heh well let me give you a update on day 1

Compared to any other class i've taken there are a plenty of fine looking young ladies.

and secondly, the prof is by far the most conceited self-promoting prof i have had in my career as a learner Today she talked about how she published a paper, and how all the newsmedia were contacting her and how they were "spinning" her story and misquoting her and sensationalizing the story. Then she decided that after 30 minutes of talking about herself that was it for the day and we all took off.

and GOPH 375 is not hard at all. a B is managable without going to a single lecture or purchasing the textbook if you have some decent knowledge of the subject matter in the first place. Not that i was willing to put in the effort but i don't think a A would have been much work if you actually attended classes.

Dude. You are certifiably out of your freaking mind.

In the Business school MGIS and Marketing 317 are in the top 5 for hardest and most involved group projects in your whole degree.

They're a bitch man.

Who are your profs? If you got Thirkettle for MGIS bring a pillow to class.

I actually didnt find mgis to be that bad. MKTG and ACCT were rough though, and I did not take those two classes together for that exact reason.

GOPH 375! I'm wanting to join that class this semester, but it is eternally full. Been checking every hour and day to get in. If anyone here is thinking of dropping it, please notify

How long ago did you take these because they toned down mktg 317 a lot a few years ago and the MGIS project isnt all that intensive. ACCT can be tough with Lakra but not hell like some describe it.

Yeah...I haven't heard any good things but I think I'm up for the challenge, and my profs seem good so far and from what I've heard. (Knock on wood) It's also why I'm only doing 4 courses.

Marketing: Leslie Roberts
Accounting: Wayne Irvine (Heard he's easily the best accounting prof)
MGIS: Cameron Welsh

Ask them to overload it for you. The prof said in class that he's allowing overloads.

I took it last semester on the same advice. Not as easy as I expected, lots of memorization. All in all, not a hard class, I probably should have put in more effort though. Another CPer and I were both in it, we both figured the easy A comment from before was bull .

Haha, yeah. That class is FULL right now, holy . I've only ever seen that many people in that room during my Econ 201/203 midterms and finals.
