Default Mini RC Helicopter

Does anybody have one of these? I went all over town looking for one last night, with no luck. So onto ebay I went. I bought one but it is going to like 2-3 weeks at least before it shows up. I feel like I am going back in time and waiting Eatons catalouge style.

Any way - mini rc helicopters - they kick!

Yes, yes they do. i bought one and while the life is only about 6 minutes, its definately wicked.

Pickup some descent rechargable batteries cause it does eat batteries.

Definately makes me want to buy a larger RC Helicpter, althoguh I can definately see why its expensive since it seems very difficult to land softly.

Only problem is it really only goes up and down. The Rotor is slightly tilted forward so it always goes forward but not as quick, you also constantly have to work the pitch else it could 180 on you.

This reminds me of the Mythbusters episode. They had a full sized one and Grant, the robot master, could not even get it off the ground without crashing. They are supposed to be super hard to fly.

They are not the easiest to fly. My bro has one and I usually end up bouncing off the wall or ceiling.

I got one of those little Mosquito helicopters from Christmas last year. They were pretty cool, little micro motors would run the main and tail rotor but they were hard to handle as well. Really only went up and down, I had visions of it doing laps around the living room swooping down on my g/f before racing away for another lap.

Sadly, it never really happened. You spent more time adjusting the trim than anything. The more hight you wanted it to go, the faster the blades had to spin making it rotate in place more requiring more trim. Reverse process to fly it lower.

Tons of fun to play with on Christmas day though.

I have one of those mosquitos as well. The Engrish instructions are good for a laugh. Not at all easy to fly, but I can fly well enough to confuse the hell out of my roommate's cats.

I just got one from thinkgeek.com and it is awsome. I ordered it on Sunday and got it on Thursday. After shipping and duty it cost me about $55.
I love it but like the others said it does take some getting used to.

I might buy it just to torture my cats. I hate them.
