The Alienware curved screen has visible tearing between the three sides due to projection. They claim the final version will be fixed. It's still not 3D or perpective oriented though which would be a big help.

Pretty cool, but it's got a few glaring drawbacks I can think of:

1. It's probably going to cost way more than most people can afford
2. Very few games will natively support its 2880x900 resolution (and devolpers won't bother adding support because so few people will buy this because of 1.)

Also, in multiplayer fps games, I could see this as giving an unfair advantage to players who have one of these monitors, since their field of vision will be greater than those who use a standard 4:3 or 16:9 monitor.

Weird, I was just wondering last night when something like this would come out. And ya, they are going to be pricey but I'm willing to bet that is the future of monitors and game developers will start writing software for them for sure.

Good luck to ATR making us our monthly calendars!
When I was in California I was at the Nascar store by Universal and they had a game where you get in the car and everything around you is the screen. its freaking awesome.

This is nothing new, many multiplayer games allow people who have widescreen to see more than those who play on standard 4:3 resolution including Counter-Strike and Call of Duty.
