Muse - Mac Hall. Best live concert I've ever been to. Absolutely electric
The Hip - Gord Downie is just hypnotic. Always a great show. I've seen them in Calgary 4-5x and in Red Deer 1x
U2 - In Edmonton was gold.
Snow Patrol - Solid, but I did expect more.
Velvet Revolver - Again solid tunes and atmosphere.
Ozzy Osbourne - Decent show, but absolute hilarity with the videos to open the show with Alanis Morrissette, the Queen, et al.

On a smaller scale, Sam Roberts was great live both times I saw him play.

Pearl Jam definitely puts on a good live show.

definately agree that NIN, Tool and the whitestripes were awesome.

also saw KoRn in 99 or 00 and they put on a great live show.

also thought Clapton put on an amazing show. not a spectacle type show just lots of good guitar playing. that and the flying Pig at the Roger Waters show was cool (Pink Floyd).

Pearl Jam has to be on of the best live bands, the just have so much material and experience to draw from.

That being said, I would bet anyone with alot of material would put on a good show. I'd rather see a band do music from 5 seperate albums, 2 obscure covers, and ramdom variations on thier music, then listen to a bands album live from front to back..

Broken Social Scene is extraordinary live.

The Roots put on a crazy show. Absolutely overflowing with energy and they are all unbelievable musicians.

I've heard quite a few people say that Mutemath is amazing live - one of the best.

However The Foo Fighters can do ONE HELL of an arena show.

However, if you're looking for a really great live performance (not just lights, and fireworks), then easily the two best bands I've ever seen are:

The Supersuckers
and
The Reverend Horton Heat

Both are pretty much the definition of "Working Band", and man do they do great live shows.
I agree 100%.. The Supersuckers are one of my favourite bands and I finally got to see them last time they were around.. What a great great show.. Are you a fan of Eddie Spaghetti at all?

very jealous, T5, I really hope he tours out west sometime soon. His Heart of Gold DVD is awesome (his biography, Shakey is a terrific read for any Neil Young fan).

I've seen some great shows live.

Paul McCartney in Seattle in 2005, almost 3 hours on stage, insane setlist, glad I got to see a Beatle play live.

Pick any of the 5 AC/DC shows I've seen in the last 22 years, all were good.

Metallica, I've seen the Justice, Load and the St Anger tours, all of them fantastic.

Billy Idol, 2005 in the Hard Rock hotel in Vegas.

Chris Cornell at Mac Hall last year blew me away, Pearl Jam is always good, The Hip, Motorhead, Foo Fighters....

I can't pick a favourite, too many of them.

Judas Priest of course. I'm delighted that i got to see all of the "big three", Priest, Maiden and Sabbath. Guys from Sabbath seem a bit tired, though, not a great live show. Actually I would have preffered the Heaven & Hell group with DIO more, but I had to be in work when they were in Finland.

When all of your wolfmothers and whatnots are forgotten in 2030 atleast I can say to my childrens in my deathbed when I'm dying in lungcancer that I got to see those classic bands one day.

From those three the Maiden show is the greatest, Dickinson has unbelievable energy on stage and atleast here in Finland all the fans are berserk and bersekerly drunk. (Well at least Perseet in their shoulders)

I just got back from seeing a Spoon/Arcade Fire double bill and it was awesome! Really enjoyed them both, but Arcade Fire was killer. I still wish I had gone to see them in 2004 at AJ's Hangar in Kingston when they were unheard of but I was too cheap; really regret that now.
