Default Banned Bands

Simple concept:

Bands that you will turn off the radio out of principle. You have personally banned them for what ever reason.

Finger Eleven: overplayed and trying to ride the success of one quality single. Since then they have offered very little to commercial radio and get overplayed, therefore they have been banned by me. I will turn off the radio whenever they come on.

Trash Unreal - overplayed and ruined.

chances are, any band that's considered nu-metal or has some sort of modified way of spelling its name (hip hop not included).

i am not a finger eleven fan or even a real music fan, but i don't get this point you make, they have a hit song that has been on the american top 40 forever, so because of this it gets a ton of play. this makes them riding the success of one single?...well duh, perhaps they should tell everyone to stop playing it so that they can make less money .

Finger eleven has been around for a little bit, they've had some decent stuff in the past, but yeah, the song you're talking about is completely overplayed.

And for Bands I turn off: Peter, Bjorn and John. Utter garbage which is unbearable to listen to.

not a band, and not based on any principle other than no one should suck that bad, but I'm gonna' say Amanda Marshall.

Any rapper who raps about how is bling is the best and how he has all the money and how he has huge rims on his car and how much he likes to grind up on ho's and all that crap.

Except for Ludacris, the dude makes me laugh.

The hit song I am referring to is One-Thing from a few years ago, thus vaulting them onto the stage. Since then they have not done anything that I consider relevent or fresh. Yet because of this one song they still get extended radio play for other released singles, when IMO they should be allowed to die off and open up that room for other relevent fresh music.

that is the point i am making.
Another to add to the list is Linkin Park.

Nickelback - formulaic crap, competely devoid of creativety or originality. I will actually yell at the radio when one of their 'songs' are played.

Foo fighters - their first album was excellent, and I enjoyed listening to their singles over the years, but the new stuff is just so boooooring.

Rise Against/Against me - I can't even tell the difference between these bands, I hate corporate rock posing as punk.

Raine (from OLP) - congratulations on your tim armstrong impression.

Tegan and Sara - Arcade fire for dummies. I did like 'the con'.

Angels and Airwaves - potentially the worst band in the world, haven't gotten played much lately though.

Practically every 70's and 80's hair band that our classic rock station plays. I really dislike hair bands, too me it is a horrible form of rock.

Theory of a Nickelfault
99% of rap
Any "punk" band with screaming
Most songs played on LITE96 or whatever the station is

My number 1 is anything Matthew Good. Radio filler played solely because it's Canadian content. Uninspired, rehashes of the same song.

Avril and Sean Kingston...

I'm coming around on Akon, but he's on the cusp...

Oh, and anything from Sean Paul... if I can't understand the lyrics... I'm not a fan.

I grew up on hip hop and rap, especially in my highschool days, but all this Soljah Boy crap is just that... CRAP.

HAHA - well, probably not simply due to the fact it has been at least 10 yrs since circles got a go round on a radio station.

Good call though

Country music.

I also refuse to listen to Christmas music between January 2 and November 31.
