Default Question about Mexico

Has anyone on this board ever stayed at the Paradisus Riviera (Mayan) in Mexico?

If so can you let me know what it was like. Thanks.

Many travel sites have resort reviews:

Some places make ice using bottled water. But it is always better to be safe than sorry.

Just came back from the Mayan Riviera on Sunday. Didn't stay at the hotel you mentioned but I'd be happy to answer any questions you have about the area.

Yeah i read 100 of these last night. Some people love it some don't. Totally expected. I just want to hear an opinion from people on the board if they stayed there.

I stayed next door to the Paradisus at the Excellence Riviera last year. We did a quick walk through the pool area at the Paradisus and it looked quite nice to me. We decided on the hotel next door for a couple of reasons. No reservations for dinner and no kids. The beach is fine, I'm sure you've heard people complaining about the sea grass and while it is there, there are tractors that are constantly cleaning it up. The beach in this area is protected from the coral reef a ways off shore so the waves are not a problem for swiming. You can walk the beach for miles in both directions.

If was taking the family I would definately consider the Paradisus. It looked really well run to me and it's NOT in Cancun. Let me know if you have any questions, PM if you'd like.
