I have to admit that the pyramid was probably the best event from just a beating the crap out of some pencil neck standpoint. However it could be made better if the bottom area with made out of concrete and laced with spikes and explosives and had vicious attack dogs roaming around it with bee's in their mouth so that when they bark they shoot bee's at the contestant.
That would be awesome.
And I still think that at the end of the show it should have a more roman gladiators feel where the head of the network gets to decide the loser's fate.
Thumbs up, the contestant goes home
Thumbs down, and the winner runs the loser through with a short sword.
That would hold my interest.

The only part that was stupid during the pyramid was when the gladiator jumped over the fire-fighter to give him the easy win. Kind of reeked of a set-up IMO...

Helga would probably be a very good looking woman if she wasn't so butch. She's not huge, she's just...built like a man. She was also VERY sub-par at the Gauntlet, the one event I saw her in.

They probably were going to roll it out at a different time and this made it a no-brainer. It's all about who has 'new' TV.
On a side note, I'm sure NBC has some strict drug testing for their Gladiators as it would be a PR mess if they didn't. But some of those guys... I don't know....
