Sounds like I'll have to check it out. I'm kinda partial to Kam Han myself.

I know the owners. Very good food, excellent service and pricing, and I'm not saying that because I know them. Too bad I live so far away from them. Chinese food in McKenzie is sucky sucky!

The Pearl is pretty good. As an Inglewood resident I strive pretty hard to use a lot of local businesses. This is where I stray the most because Bamboo Gardens in Mayland Heights is by far the best Chinese I have had in Calgary.

Being Chinese, I have never understood how people find chinese food to be good tasting...I've got to eat a chinese meal with non chinese people once to see what they are ordering.

Me being Chinese as well, may be able to give you some sort of idea. Normally, if they place has a buffet, thats what non-chinese poeple USUALLY go for... now, if there isn't... it will be likely that they order...
Hot and Sour Soup
Wonton Soup
Spring Rolls
Fried Dumplings
Some sort of Fried Rice
Ginger Beef
Sweet and sour Chicken/pork
Now, I'm not saying that ALL non-Chinese people will order those, for anyone with fairly good knowledge of Chinese Cuisine would most likely order something other than the things mentioned... mind you though, to me, some of that stuff actually tastes really good... Now I find myself longing for some hot and sour soup... and too bad I haven't found a place that is good enough in Ottawa.

I live in Ramsay and have ordered Dragon Pearl before. Thought it was good, but hands down best Chinese is a tucked away place in Deer Ridge, called Jubilee Restaurant. Order the 136, and the s and pepper squid. Honestly my fav place for Chinese. Been there forever, survived so many businesses around it for a reason.

It's something about the taste....I've been to Asia over a dozen times, and I'll take Western Chinese food over the authentic Chinese any day of the week. Pretty sure it's been changed somewhere along the way to suit the our greasy tastebuds.
One thing I can't seem to find is the fried tomato and scrambled egg combo, or at least a recipe to make it. It's by far my favorite Chinese dish, Western or authentic. I highly suggest people try it if they can ever find it.
