Default How To Clean A Jet Tub

So the house my wife and I bought a house a little over a year ago, and in the basement there's a jet tub. Now before I used it, and over the course of the year, I've cleaned the tub itself, but I'm starting to wonder about the jets. How do I go in there and clean those out. The jets are too powerful to just run water with some kind of cleaning solution without some kind of watery mess all over the place.

I'm trying to find ideas online with no success. Anyone have any ideas?

I'd probably use some de-scaler similar to what is used in a pool / Hot Tub.

Rinse, repeat as necessary.........

It's a single person tub with jets.

Being over 6 feet tall, it sometimes feels like someone who is 4 feet tall, but it's deeper than any tub I've ever been in.

well sorry i cant help you with that one, but I do share the pain of not fitting in bath tubs that well.
If its anything like a hot tub it will have a filter, but I highly doubt that

If its similar in any way to a hot tub wouldnt it be an additive to the water that just gets run through the jets on a cleaning cycle?

This is what I do at least once a year. Clean more often if you use a lot.

I fill the tub with water, at least luke warm, cleans better with warm or hot water. Angle the jets to a down position. Add about a cup of bleach and then run the tub for about 20 minutes. Drain. Fill with water. Run the jets for 5 minutes to get rid of any residual bleach. Drain, buff dry, that is it.

Don't be adding any soap that will be foaming up or you will be sorry((

And if I moved into a previously occupied house, I would do this before my first use. I am very fussy when it comes to bathrooms.

I used to have a jetted tub. I used dishwasher soap; that's dishwasher.

Not dish soap. It worked like a charm. Then I did a tub full of just plain water to rinse it.
