About 15 or so years ago, before Nose Hill Park became the crowded, paved place it is today, I was out on my mountain bike pounding across some trails when I launched over a rise and what do I see right on the other side nearly beneath my wheels but a young, college-age lass, leaning back on her elbows on a blanket, sunning herself sans top, steepled book beside her . . . . . and a mighty nice sight she was.

I managed to stay mounted on the bike and gave her a long glance from not more than ten feet and received a defiant grin, versus a come-hither smile, offered a smile in return, a last glance, a shake of the head and then was on my way, leaving her to her day.

There was the proverbial dirty-old-man walking in her direction nearby, likely by stone-cold accident, but I didn't hang around to see how that might have worked out.

Anyhoo . . . . . NO, not everyone stops to get a knob-polish, even the married guy, in that situation . . . . . although I probably ended up pounding my head against a tree later on with second thoughts. Or bad thoughts.

And, bonus, for being a class act I guess I avoided getting arrested!!!

Well, the article says they were undercover cops, trying to stop sex acts from happening in the parks. As I said earlier, not every cop is assigned to a homicide investigation, or the DARE program in schools. It isn't up to you or I what individual police officers are paid to do. The entire argument that police officers should be out enforcing "real crimes" or something along those lines is overused and ridiculous. I am sure people try pulling that line when they get pulled over for speeding. Sure there are probably other more important crimes being committed that very minute, but the cop saw YOU, not him.

LOL, I read about this story a few days ago, and there was a picture included back then. It was from quite a distance, and maybe it wasn't even from that incident, but a pic nonetheless. I'll try to track it down.

Okay, say you and the Missus are enjoying a leisurely stroll through Prince's Island on a Sunday morning. While enjoying the fresh air, you happen to notice just a few feet off the path a woman with no shirt on and a guy with his dick in his hand.

Do you shrug your shoulders, give him a high five or think "damn, I shouldn't have to see that in the park, it should be illegal"?

Yeah, I see your point, but since they're both consensual to the act, they should both pay the price, and thats my point on this, I was just trying to lighten things up.

If she wasn't an undercover officer, then she's just as guilty as him. If she is an undercover cop, then its entrapment.

And knowing me, I'd probably set up a website, and web cam the whole thing for money

Stupid. I think the woman was working with the police and they won't admit it. It's the only reason why she wouldn't be charged as well.
Seems like entrapment to me.

Thats all I'm trying to say, this whole charge makes no sense to me.

The article suggests this task force is targeting men. So...

Targeting men having sex implies either men having sex with men or charging just men involved in a heterosexual encounter, and not the woman. As if women are impossible of sexual deviance.

Either the wording caught me off guard or cops and the media only assume men can be criminal in a public sexual encounter.

The thing that bugs me is that they were supposed to be hunting down sexual predators. When I think of those 2 words I think of rapists, child molesters etc.

If a hot naked girl is rubbing up on a guy and she tells him to wip it out, and he does, he is just a guy. He's not raping/drugging/assaulting her, she wants it. This is how everyday regular sex goes down, the woman wants it and the man gives it to her. This guy isn't a sexual predator, he's just a guy.

That article really pissed me off

I think you could argue that the cop, who was spying on the topless girl in the park, was more of a sexual predator that this man who's being charged.

Exactly. What probably happened was the cops ASSUMED he was taking out his junk without her asking him to, ie, he was flashing her. Then, when they arrested him, she spoke up and said, "uh, I asked him to do that officer" (which, by the way, good on her), and then they had 2 choices - look like idiots and let him go, or charge him with the offence he *did* commit. No surprise which choice they went with there...

It's hard to tell from this article what actually happened. In one part of the article it says the woman was not asked by police to do anything, but then in another part it says the police were actively luring people in.

If this was just some kind of swingers club that was active in the park that the police were busting then yes I agree w/ them. However, if in any way the police influenced the action of the woman this has to be entrapment.

Really strange article either way.

If anyone in this article is a sexual predator it would be the female. She lured him in, seduced him and initiated the idea of him whipping it out. He is the prey, not the predator.
Cops charged the wrong person.

Ha ha. The world has gone topsy-turvy.

When I first read the story I thought "ahh, who cares, they ain't doing no harm" but then I remembered a few years ago I was on a public beach and some jackass was taking a leak and all sorts of people (kids, grannies, most importantly me) caught a glimpse of his bathing-suit parts. I wanted to hit him in the head with a paddle for putting us all through this.

Keep the dink indrawers when out in public is all I'm saying.
