Anyone else getting this? I dont feeling like calling Shaw tonite.

This also happened with CBC HD 209 today during the Winter Classic. Luckily that I was watching on NBC HD anyways.

We've had problems all day with most of the HD channels on Shaw. Hope they fix it soon!

Yeah, my TSN HD hasn't worked all day either. Even my CBC HD cut out during the Winter classic so I had to switch over to NBC.

I've been very unimpressed with SHAW's HD offerings. Not so much with the selection, but more with their presentation of them. Seems like it doesn't matter what channel I'm watching, or if I'm watching something we've recorded on the PVR... there's either a video or audio glitch somewhere in the program.
I also am disapointed with the selection of channels. While it seems there's many channels now available in HD... we only have a selection of 21, and some are duplicates (ie-more than one NBC channel).

I think one of my New Years Resolutions will be to price out Bell.

While I agree Shaw's HD is inferior to Bell, I will never go back to Bell considering that 5 months after I cancelled service I am still in a fight with them over my bill that I've been told 5 times is settled, until my next invoice comes. Then they lost track of my PVR I sent back and tried to charge me $650, but then were able to track it down within 5 mins of me calling. The lack of HD offerings and some quality issues are a small compared to the pain of dealing with Bell.

Back on topic, CBC has been out since first period of the game and TSNHD has been out all day at my place.

I had my issues with Bell equipment, and dealing with their Customer service. I had to resort to sicking the CRTC on them to get my service cancelled and not have them bill me for a couple extra months. Of course the fact that they make you wait about 2 hours on the phone to cancel in an attempt to break your will and hope you'll try back later was oh so impressive.
What really bothered me was that they offered me about 5 different things when I told them I was unimpressed and was going to switch T.V. providers, and never what I wanted. I even told them what they had to do to keep my bussiness and they wouldn't. After I ditch them, sick the CRTC on them they phone me back and offer me what I wanted in the first place after it's too late. Than again...they're the same as everyone else in the T.V. bussiness...just different I suppose.

I guess I see it as when it's really windy, or snowing or raining you can lose your dish signal. I had a crappy dish (again because of crappy Bell service and their stupid ways of doing things) before so that happened routinely. I guess I'm used to having audio/video glitches after having Sattelite for several years.

Sorry for the derailment, but is everyone else's SHAW HD glitchy too?

Yeah, I get what almost looks like Sattelite freezes, and the occasional audio cut out. But as I said above...I got that more often with the dish and often would lose signal altogether quite often. The lesser of two evils for me.

I had that also, during the Sabres game, and some football. Also the CBC HD was dead.

Yah the HD, especially on CBC, keeps freezing up on me too. And any HD Centre Ice games force me to type in the number of the channel, if I try to use the guide to go to the game, it just does nothing, which is REALLY annoying.
On the other hand, I find myself not even checking the regular channels anymore - if it isn't on HD, I don't like to watch. The only thing I watch is any Flames game that is still in SD, the rest just is too painful to watch after being spoiled.

I noticed it yesterday as well, and I was wondering if it had to do with the snowstorm they had out east. Just a guess.

I didnt lose my HD feeds on Starchoice, which makes me wonder where the problem is since as I understand it Starchoice and Shaw use the same feed.

Same company not the same feed. Seems just a Shaw issue as Starchoice and Bell seemed to work fine.

For me I only watch HD programming so having the option of 67 channels on Bell vs 21 on Shaw is a huge difference and worth the hassel when I need to phone customer service once every 6 months. I still don't know why people talk to those idiots on the phone when you can do everything self-serve online.

Personally I have never had a problem cancelling my service as I have had to cut it off twice because of different places I lived where I could not get satellite. However I did have huge problems with Shaw when I cancelled my internet service where they kept charging me for months and months after I had cancelled. I guess it just depends on the rep you get...

I just realized looking through this thread that the Winter Classic was on CBC. I thought NBC was the only channel covering it...

Could not watch TSN and CBC on the 1st.
As far as I can tell, Shaw has not added ONE new HD channel since last Xmas.
