Haha I dont know how the girl would feel about that, but maybe if I explain it to her in just the right way...
As for sheddin the gloves, forget that, I'm a goalie. Blocker in the chops baby!! That's how I roll

Thought I would resurrect this thread to ask about the shinny situation in Calgary. I'm getting on a plane in a couple of hours, and trying to convince my wife that it's worth it to bring my skates.... so what gives? Are the rinks any good? Are there any near the Marda Loop area that are currently frozen over?
I'd be up for a CP shinny game as well, so long as it's either before the 23rd or after the 30th or so--I'll be in Invermere for a week.

Well, I don't know about the rest of Calgarypuck, but I have Saturday and Sunday off, so I'm down a for CP shinny over the weekend.

The morning is best since the ice will be better and not as crowded anywhere. So keep that in mind.
I'll check this thread to see what people have suggested. I still would be willing to rent some ice somewhere if we can get someone to do that. But we'll keep it at shinny I hope- I don't have any hockey equipment beyond skates, stick and gloves!

I'd be in for either one, as long as it was the 31st, 1st, 2nd or 3rd. I'm in Invermere until then, and after that it's back to Philadelphia. I'll be playing Shinny either way, but it would be cool to hook up with some other CPers.

JayP was talking about Wildwood, which really is nowhere near C.O.P. lol
Anyhoo, had an awesome game tonite at Signal. Just the right ammount of people, people sharing the puck.
Good times, now on to the beer.

anyone playing today?
I might stumble over to the Valley Ridge one, and see if that's up and running yet.

Are you bringing your goalie gear, or are you playing out?

I would love to play today or tomorow. Wildwood is a really good rink. I was there on Friday and we got a pretty solid game going. I am going to the Flames game on New Years so some shinny would be a great precursor to that. I am probably going to try and go there today as well. If any of you see this goalie playing today well... Thats me. Keep in mind that the Sky is blue and the Sea is red.

I might go to Wildwood one of these nights. It looks like they leave the lights on really late. Which is awesome. It's actually probably closer to me than Signal but Signal is like my home rink, lol.

I just finished there but I am considering going back. Two and a half hours isn't quite enough I could probably play for while longer yet. The teams were extremely uneven though. Faced about two shots while I was on the one team then I switched nets and let in 6 goals on 8 shots. Then I decided it was break time. Learning is fun.
