The Grinch thread
Those of us who hate Christmas need a safe haven. Too loud, too busy, too expensive, and too much family time. Glad I'm skipping it this year for a week in Vegas.
I also hate children, candy canes and snow.

I don't mind Christmas, but I sure as hell don't want to hear about it for a month and half. Two weeks at the most is as much as I can handle.

The Only reason I don't like Christmas is Xmas movies and music for the most part are terrible. I also hate the fact that my weekly trivia competitions at bars turn into trivia about Xmas movies and music and I know little about them.

I like Christmas, but this is turning into a bad one.
I sure would like to shake this nasty head cold right now. Breathing through my nostrils would be a treat.

Wow..i can't stand busy shopping malls, but you sound like the devil. At least you are getting away from it in style. Although i'm sure they have christmas in Vegas too.

I'm done shopping when my sister is. Wait no, I'm done when I give her money to split on whatever she bought.

Yeah, I tried the lets not do Christmas this year and go to Hawaii the week after when everything is on sale because everyone spends themselves broke at Christmas this year. Of course my wife didn't quite get the whole message and missed out on the we're not buying gifts or any of that stuff part. Really is it my problem if relatives send me a gift and I don't send them one back. Surely they'll figure out next year that I meant bussiness. I appreciate the effort my inlaws put into getting me gifts, but my house is already filled with junk we don't use. I don't need anymore.

I'm still relatively young and I'm in this boat. Christmas music everywhere for a month... someone shoot me, please. And all the chocolate in sweets... going to need a new belt... also the fact that I'd rather save up some cash then go spend it on things that people barely end up caring about in the middle of their other gifts... Even free stuff is losing it's appeal.

I love Christmas - the hot sun, the taste of a cool tropical drink, the sound of the surf coming in on the beach, hot women slathering themselves with oil and not even asking me to throw any loonies - oops, wait a minute, that's not Christmas!
But I sure wish it was. I'd even sing a carol, if I got 50% off my next drink.

I am not a huge fan of Christmas anymore. Ever since my parents split up, it sucks having to figure out who I am spending Christmas with and how much time I will spend with each parent so that neither feels like I am favouring the other. Plus, I just end up getting more frustrated with the malls and shopping and wrapping and everything. Sucks all the fun right out of it. By the time it actually rolls around, I just want to sleep or watch tv. I should add though that having my little nephews around seems to make it easier to deal with, they get really excited about everything.

Thats because they dont have to buy anything.
Send them out to the mall with a credit card they'll have to pay down eventually and see how jacked up they are then.

In my family it has become tradition that my full sister and I spend xmas eve with my dad & stepmom and xmas day with mom.

Same here. It's hard to enjoy all the Christmas baking when you can't taste anything.

Well, we haven't really managed to work it out yet so that no one is PO'd. We've only had two Christmases to figure something out. This year, it will be Christmas eve and day with my mom at my brothers place. Then boxing day with my other brother at my dads cottage. But moms not happy because it looks like my dad will get more time than she will. I might not even bother with this next year, I'll just stay in Ottawa with my dog.
