I know it works, but its still lame IMO.

Talking to her friends shows you have a serious issue facing her yourself.

And if she is speaking through her friends....same thing.

Sleep with her friends and see if it makes her jealous.

If she goes Grade A ballistic then you might have a shot at her.

If shes not unforgiveable furious about the friend sleeping part.

I think the basic point being made here is that the odds on this working are so long that you essentially have to do something fairly extreme.

So have fun and swing for the fences, but if you do make a move be sure to keep us posted.

I once went on the line and told a girl I was good friends with that I was interested in something more.

She wasn't, but we're still really good friends and I've become like the older brother type of guy. Which worked out great because she's actually really annoying sometimes.

Thanks for all the input, I wasn’t expecting so much response, but the more minds the merrier.

To clear up a few things:

-If I were to ask her out and she shot me down, it totally wouldn’t make me become a jerk to her and kiss the friendship goodbye, since I’ve lived this long and was able to for quite some time basically force the attraction to her away from my brain. The only worry is whether she wouldn’t be creeped out by the whole idea of “this guy wasn’t everything I thought he was,” and find being with me so awkward after that we’d just stop hanging.

-I absolutely am not talking to her friends about this.

-Since it’s basically obvious that she doesn’t “like” me in the romantic sense, I guess what I’m trying to do here is get her to change that thinking which is difficult, since you can’t make someone like you. But obviously there’s ways to try, and I like the idea of simply turning up the flirt for a long while, dropping hints, and if she really doesn’t get it after a while I’ll basically spill the beans?

-The idea of being an is one I’ve heard before, and is it really true? Cause especially from talking to other buddies, I’ve always heard (and found in previous relationships I’ve been in) that most girls like nice guys, not jerks. Or is there some sort of fine line between being an and a jerk? I have a lot to learn it seems

-I made sure she wasn’t on CP before I thought of posting this, so don’t worry

And after I get back from a nice warm vacation and have a sexy tan, I will definitely swing for the fences and let you guys know how it turns out (unlike the President).

Any additional advice would be welcomed.

P.S.-I’m surprised no one mentioned hookers and blow yet

Right idea, but wrong timing. Tell her you love her, and if you're denied THEN sleep with her friends, while totally ignoring her. Girls go nuts when they can't figure out WTF is going through your head. Chances are she'll sleep with you to reassure to herself that you still care, especially if she has a low self esteem.
