The Cowboys looked mortal yesterday. Jessica Simpson may never be allowed back into Texas Stadium after that debacle.

Favre nets yet another passing record going past Marino for all time yardage. Green Bay looking very very good again.....certainly hope we see a rematch in the NFC Champuionship game against the 'boys and "hope" its in GB as that is now a possibility after yesterday.

The one team that is impressing me a whole bunch is the jaguars. Great running offense, adequate passing game and a very good defence....wouldnt want to be facing them in the playoffs in a one game scenario.

Also looks like San Diego has truly turned the corner....using all their weapons to their advantage and the way they should be used. However just wait for Turner to screw that one up as well.

Seattle losing to carolina is inexcusable IMO. The Panthers are a shell of what they were talking at years start, and looked to have mailed it in weeks ago.

Then there is Eli and the Giants. Brutal. Maybe the most over hyped team in the league this year.

Brees was brilliant yesterday, keeping the Saints alive for another week. Seems the team is much more agressive running the ball with Stecker in there, as he runs where he is supposed to, unlike Mr. Bush. The defence was average at best, but managed to force some turnovers which turned into touchdowns. Colston for the pro bowl!! and go Bears!

Only thing good about the game was the defense played very well. Meanwhile Romo couldn't hit wide open receivers all game long. I'm wondering if he is injured more than they are letting on and if he is why are they playing him?

I'm so very excited for tonight's game. The Vikings control their playoff lives, just gotta beat the Bears and the Redskins next week.

I can't even concentrate at work....

Kyle Orton is back on Monday Night Football! I can't wait....

Cowboys lose yesterday and of course who's running his big mouth on the sideline during the game? TO hasn't changed

Even though there record is once again horrible, Lane Kiffin has done a pretty good job in Oakland if you ask me.

CLE has a real shot at the AFC North - PIT and CLE are both 9-5, and PIT has the tie-breaker.

But, PIT closes the season with two road games, @ STL, @ BAL.

CLE is @ CIN, and home vs. SF.

IF CLE wins out and PIT drops a road game, CLE wins the AFC North.

It's still a tough one to come through for the Browns, but the fact that they control their destiny to make the playoffs is impressive.

If one was to prognosticate the future...which is always a dubious task in the NFL I'd have to think San Diego, Cleveland and Pittsburgh all win out to finish 11-5. San Diego didn't play either team and two of their losses were to NFC teams. So with a 9-3 conference record I think San Diego would win a tie breaker over Pittsburgh and thats who Cleveland would play if they get into the playoffs as the 6th seed. Off the top of my head it looks like

1.)New England*
2.)Indianapolis*
3.)San Diego
4.)Pittsburgh
5.)Jacksonville
6.)Cleveland

*=playoff position clinched.

How 'bout dem Eagles? That defense has been absolutely lights out this year. They won't make the playoffs, but we're one big playmaking receiver away from being a legit contender. The signs indicate that it's McNabb's last year in Philly but I'd like to see him brought back for one more.

I coudn't help myself yesterday and layed $100 on the Jets to win. They had a shot I guess. Was worth it for a $900 pay day.

Ya tell me about it. I actually liked the Bears until after that game. As for the Saints making a run in the playoffs, I dunno. If we do get in, I could see us pulling an upset on either Seattle or Tampa Bay in the Wild Cards, but in the divisionals, I just can't see us getting by a Dallas or epecially a Green Bay. Well I guess we did show it last year in that big win against Dallas, but I seriously think the Pack would kill us. A downfield chucker with speedy WR's is the perfect combo to beat the Saints, I think the Favre to Jennings connection would absolutely kill us, Galloway or Holt style. Jason David would be hooked up to an oxygen machine all night. I'd love to see us get in and of course I'll have hope if they do, but realistically this team has too many holes - especially on D - for us to make alot of noise come playoff time IMO.

Also in terms of the playoff race, another team we still could very much catch is the Giants. They're 9-5, but that Redskins win over them yesterday really helped. Remember, the Giants have the Patriots at the end of the season which I do not see the Patriots losing, since it's probably going to be for the undefeated season. So that means if we can win out and have the Bills knock off the Giants next week, itd put us in the dance(I believe we have the tiebreaker over them). It's gonna be a stressful next couple weeks!

Funny thing is that the Dolphins have a history in Late December of messing with teams who have great records. They had a good team when they handed the 85 Bears their only loss. But I don't recall them being all that good when they haded the 98 Bronco's loss #2 and when they beat the Pats in December of 05. Any other 1-14 team and you'd think they'll mail it in. But the Dolphins will bring something.

The Jets looked like a team who'd get killed 70-0 going into that game as you know Bellichik wanted that. But Mangini did a good job inspiring that team to show up and give them a tougher battle than many expected. The weather helped them out, but the Jets didn't roll over and die knowing that Goliath wanted to absolutely pillage them either. I expect the Dolphins will give them a tough matchup this week.

Yeah, but they could still end up in the third or 4th seed. The top two are carved in stone. The rest still need to set, although the masons got his hammer out as it's formality more than anything..

Yes, if everyone in the NFC wild card race finished 9-7, the Saints are in. They have the tie breaker over all of the other teams in the race due to divisional record. That would be a great accomplishment after starting out 0-4 and losing some key players.

The first round matchup could be very winnable, but like you stated, the Saints need to handle their business first. Favre/Jennings/Lee etc. at Lambeau would be bit too much.

One more thing... Don't tell anyone, but we've got a top 5 receiver on our hands. #12 is a stud.

Oh I agree, I heart Colston. Loomis seriously needs to ink this guy to a lucrative long-term deal in the next year or so. I'm still pissed that when I won a Colston jersey on Ebay I was shipped a Bush one instead.

Count me among those that were disappointed the Dolphins won. I was hoping to see an 0-16 season and ... happen in the same season. Now only one of those things is on the table.

It would have been strangely karmic to have the same franchise responsible for the only perfect season and the only Oh Fer season.

There was a report I read somewhere that stated the day the season is over, Colston and his agent are going to be sitting in Loomis' office talking money. Well deserved. Jahri Evans needs to get paid as well.

They're going to have a tough decision with Deuce in the off season.

Go Bears! Go Bills!

Seems there are some bad vibes floating the way of the Vikings....I wish the Giants would not make the playoffs and the Saints and Vikings do....but that requires a complete melt-down by the Giants (which is concievable) but not likely.

Unless I'm mistaken I believe the game is in New England. I think the Dolphins would have a chance in Miami in wet weather. But in the cold? I don't know if a bad, warm weather team can get it done in the cold. I would love to lay another $100 on the Dolphins. But I just can't do it this week.
