Yeah, I imagine that it wouldn't make it into the "Top ten best date movies" list.

Meh, I still thought it was pretty good, but I have an admitted bias as I truly do worship Christian Bale.

Anyways, I am certainly happy that he is finally in some more mainstream movies that are actually good, like these Batman movies. I was not happy to see him in Shaft, even though he played his part well, the movie was far from good.

I think Russel Crowe made that movie EVEN better....despite Bale doing a fabulous job.

Batman is the greatest detective in the world. I really hope they develop this angle.

I saw him in both films...and what he did is simply impressive.

If I recall correctly, Bale swung his weight about 80 pounds in 6 months to do Batman Begins. I seem to remember reading that his doctor wasn't thrilled about it. Can't imagine how much time he must have spent eating and working out.

And American Psycho is my favourite movie of all time, but I've learned that it's definitely not one to watch with a girl. Any girl. Ever. They just don't seem to get the humour in it. Which is odd, one would think, since the director is female.

As for the book, I remember reading a couple of lines of it at random in a bookstore while waiting for a flight. The impression I got was that the movie toned down the violence by several levels. I put the book back on the rack and tried not to think about it.

I guess I am the exception to that rule. I liked it.

Oh man I thought I was the only one!

Christian Bale is a fantastic actor, and I can't wait for the Dark Knight to come out.

Bale was also excellent in Equilibrium. Can't wait for this sequel.

First 5 mins of the Batman movie.

Avoid if you don't want the intro spoiled.

what i liked about the first in the dark knight series and now this one is that they are focused on telling a story in a more realistic manner...i felt that after the first batman movie in the other series they kinda became an Over The Top funfest. like it was a thing to be in the movie, each one had to have more and bigger stars, and it had to be bigger and campier than the last.

i always remember a george clooney quote..."i killed batman". and its true for that series of films.

i am really looking forward to the dark knight. it was a great trailer.

re: the joker. when i first read batman comics he freaked me out because he was so psycho...you just never knew what was up and very deadly and dangerous. this joker looks the same. for me...jack was just too...well...like jim carrey was just too "targeted" for his role...same for jack.

i'm looking forward to this movie!

The interesting thing about the original joker and the Jack Joker was that they didn't have to go out of the way to make him look crazy or like a psycho. He just was. You knew that the craziness was underneath that green or purple suit, and that white face paint with the big smile. Sure he fell in a vat of acid that made his smile, but everything was inside. It was subtle by frightening.

With this one, with the scared face, the messy hair, the sloppy makeup the dirty clothes, its like, look at me, I'm a homicidal maniac that laughs. Its like being punched in the face with the craziness. Its not subtle or classical.

I'll have to see the movie. but this looks like its going down the path of the other batman sequels. Over the top obvious villains and gadgets.
Man, if your idea of what joker is is Caeser Romero's Joker, than i could see the Jack Nicksolson Joker being your favourite. IF you're a comic book Joker fan, you should be thrilled with what we've seen thus far from Ledger. "Knives and Lint" is such a great line in the trailer, because it sets up how homicidal the Joker really is. The Joker doesn't have flourescent coloured detonation set-ups, he's got knives to kill people with and machine guns to spray uncaringly. The Joker is completely insane, vicious, and horrible. Completely demented.

I love it.

This is the best bat-related stuff to come out since The Animated Series.

I saw that in the IMAX theatre before I AM Legend, it was unbelievable. I was just blown away by everything about it. I wish I could find a better quality version of this clip.

IMHO, Jack Nicholson made the first movie. Great delivery of some very good lines and the best actor in the film
Keaton as the Batman was an odd choice but proved to be quite good.
I think you have to take the first movies for what they were, a take off of the Batman tv series with a bit of the DC Comics bit thrown in.
I was very pleased in the last movie out but it was a totally different style and this is going to follow more closely along the lines of the Dark Knight series.
Two different genres of films for two different styles of Character.
