Does consolewatch.ca still work? Earlier this year I got sick of running around trying to find a Wii so I signed up with consolewatch and within a day or two my Wii was being shipped.

I tried it without success but methinks it's all a matter of timing. Walking by HMV at the right time. At a mall shopping and you drop into EB and poof.

That or you create your own timing by constant phoning and checking and pumping every source you can for info.

Nintendo announces Wii Raincheck program. Pay for a Wii in full now and get your Wii in Jan. Rumor has it that due the the sick demand for Wii since it's launch Nintendo has not saved up extra stock for the Christmas period. Wii is likely to be harder to find than ever comming up to Christmas.

My brother lives in Remond WA (just ouside Seattle) and is looking for a Wii for a gift. He says that last weekend the biggest Best Buy in Seattle got over 200 Wii in Sunday morning and it was like a scene from launch. There were tents and lawchairs up almost 48 hrs before the store opened at 9 am for the rush. The 200 Wii's were spoken for well before the store opened.

My fiancée was trying to find one for me and a guy from Future Shop told her that the Nintendo reps drop them off randomly at their stores, so they have no idea when they're coming or how many they're getting.

They are only doing this through GameStop... which I do not think exist in Canada... at least not Calgary...

In theory this could actually make it even harder to find a Wii in places other than Gamestop after Christmas... I mean they can't meet the demand supplying Wii to any stores, and if they stock pile a bunch for one stor I would think the others would be left out in the cold.

Gamestop is the parent company of Electronics Boutique (EB Games). I assume it will be going on in Canada also.

That's what I thought but the sales rep said it was not included. Guess we'll see.

I'm not sure that is true. I believe there are some special packages that come with other games. No biggie as you will be buying Wii Play anyway for the extra controller and the games are similar. Really just introductory party games. Head out and scoop Galaxy and then save your coins for when Super Smash Brothers comes out.

I was in a store a few weeks ago looking for a game for myself and while I was in a lineup the guy infront of me bought 2 units and I listened to the sales guy talk about the system and the hot price.

My turn so I casually asked the sales person about the system and the price ($269). I thought what the heck, might as well as buy it for the kids for Christmas. It was the last one.

If looks could kill the lady behind me would of struck me dead.

I go for a game and walk out with the Wii and another num hcuk thingy joystick (what ever the heck it is called).

Amazing - in all the stores I went to that day I could not beleive the demand for the item.

The bundle was the wii, Mario Party, 1 GB gaming card and cheap digital camera with 4 recharable batteries for $390 not the best deal in the world I'll admit but at least I got one.

I've picked up a few Wiis and sold them off ebay over the years at HMVs here in Calgary, just happened to drop in and I always make sure to glance behind the counter where they keep game systems.

Was just at Wal-Mart in Shawnessy and they seemed to be out of DS (was looking for one). The guy went into storage and brought out a box with 6 Wii's and 18 DS's. By the time the Wife and I finished about 1/2 hr of shopping they had 0 Wii's and 3 DS left out of the box they opened. Madness!

The Future Shop across the parking lot was sold out of both Wii and DS.

Best Buy will have 214 on Boxing Day. Get in line right after Christmas Dinner though. It will be a gong show for sure.
