Man orders a BK Hamburger.....chomps on a condom inside the burger.

MONTPELIER, Vt.
A man who says he bit into a Burger King sandwich and found an unwrapped condom inside has sued the owner of the restaurant.
Van Miguel Hartless, 24, of Fair Haven, said Friday he bought the Southwestern Whopper at a Burger King in Rutland on June 18 and made the discovery when he got home and started eating it.
"My third bite into the burger, it was just a foreign taste," he said. "It was a very sour, bitter sort of taste. It almost had a numbing sensation.
"As I went to bite down a little harder, I felt a rubber grind in between my teeth. I saw it half in my mouth, half hanging out. It was an immediate sick-to-my-stomach type of thing."

I question weather this is true or not. It seems very unlikely a condom would end up in any food at all. The first thing that tipped me off was "When I got home." they just never seem to happen to people who eat IN the place. Secondly it doesn't say that he was with anyone when it happened so I'll assume that there was no one with him when he actually found said condom.
If it's true, very gross, but if it's fake this guy's wasting a lot of time and money.

It's possible the claim is legit, but given all of the recent scams, the burden of proof on this type of lawsuit is ridiculously high.

Yeah, I question the validity of this as well, and it's not just cause I am a former BK employee. (  ) I tend to hear this type of story and immediately figure it's a cash grab, like the woman with the chili at Wendy's.

Fake.
The only way this happens is if a disgruntled employee did it on purpose, and nobody noticed. Seems pretty unlikely, since the only person getting screwed would be the poor sap who gets the burger not the employer.
No way it happens by accident. Given how many cases of this sort of thing there have been, and how often it turns out to be a scam (almost always), I'll give the benefit of the doubt to the King.

I'm sorry, but personally, I know if I bite into a burger, and find a finger or a condom or Jimmy Hoffa's face, I'm going back to the restaurant with it first and foremost to complain, then I'm going to my lawyer.
I call B.S.
Here's a suggestion, if your going to run a scam, use an item that isn't obvious.

I call BS on this one. Kid probably planted the condom.

In Canada, no, the US sometimes, but not very often. Police forces still use them, which I find surprising because I think Polygraphs are unreliable and inherently flawed.
