Default McDonalds Hockey Cards

So I got myself a couple sets of McD's hockey cards out of tradition today, and for the most part they was as I suspected. Decent, some cool different themes and exactly who you would suspect. Well almost.
Sadly my first pack had an Oiler, who I ignored as I thought it was Souray, the Luongo, and then on one card Rolosn, Hemsky, and Horcoff. Needless to say I died a little inside.
After I went threw the other two packs I got I took another look and it wasn't Souray on the first one. It was some guy named Rob Shcremp who wore #44 in the ONE GAME he played last season. He has no points either.
I thought to myself, "How the Hell does this guy get a card?" I could take a shot at Edmonton about how they suck so the guys at McDonalds and upper deck drew a name out of a hat and came up with this guy and made him a card, but I'm classier then that.

So it got me wondering:
1) Oiler fans (Oilfan81 I'm looking at you) can tell me who this kid is.
2) if anyone else has gotten some else obscure.

Oh yeah, and the Luongo card I got...its from last years set.

McDonalds only sells those cards in Canada, so I never open the packages.

Someday I am going to cash out.

Not today though!

so you're an expert on players that have only played one game in their career without registering a point?

Whaddya NEED??

Sigh - that and the other McD's spot where the kid eats apple slices in time with a rap song are the only two ads that bring me any joy during commercial breaks.

Tangental anecdote: this one time, an embittered Oilers-fan friend of mine bought a signed Mike Comrie Oilers card only to tear it to little shreds right in front of the mortified shop clerk. I haven't laughed that hard too many times in my life.

I do find it interesting that they would have a hocky card for Schremp. I also find it interesting that foofighter15 has never heard of him. You must be lucky enough not to associate with any Oiler fans.

Didn't Crosby do something like that in Jr. as well?

haha, well I do have Oil friends but most of them don't live in town so we don't have enough time to get into detail.
I don't pay enough attention to other teams non-marquee prospects I suppose. Looking at his junior stats I can understand some hype, but that be like me jumping on someone for not knowing Boyd

Oiler fans, or at least some very vocal Oiler fans, like to think he is the second coming.

That. Is hilarious. I cant even imagine how much your friend must hate Mike Comrie. That is serious animosity. The guy in the shop must have had a heart attack.
