Alberta Weather is crazy
Take a look at what Lethbridge experienced last night. Up 16 degrees in one hour, then a few hours later down 18 degrees in one hour. That doesn't happen in a lot of places in the world. http://www.theweathernetwork.com/obs24h/caab0194
My craziest Alberta weather story: I went to work the evening shift one night and it was -20 or so, when I came out of work at 1:30am it was +14 and my car had slid into to the middle of the parking lot, along with a few others while in park due to the melting??? I could figure it out.

That's not crazy Alberta weather, that's just normal Lethbridge weather. Don't want to shovel the snow? Just wait a day for the chinook!

It was definitely weird. I got home around 5:00pm and it was -12. Later on I glanced at my indoor/outdoor thermometer and it said it was +2. I looked out and water was gushing out of my drains. This morning my driveway was like a skating rink because it was back to -12.

I went to the waterslides in slyvan lake one august, was 24 degrees.. I decided I had the next day off I would drive to jasper for the night. Woke up the next morning, to snow on the ground and nothing but some summer clothes and a few wet towels...

I was working at a golf course one summer and in a single day we had flurries in the morning, a pretty hot sunny day (around 22-24) then we had a huge t-storm in the afternoon with hail. It was nuts, It was in early June.

Had an idea!
|
I drove right into a chinook last night.
-15 to +15 in the matter of minutes.
Nothing new though....this close to the mountains, this is a weekly occurrence.

30 degree shift? I know it happens but I think it's a wonder that glass doesn't shatter during a Chinook in this Province.

It might be normal for Alberta but it's not normal many other places in the world. Tell someone from Vancouver about a 30 degree temperature change, they probably wouldn't know what it's like.

Back in the mid nineties in Edmonton on New Years Eve we started the party at 5C. We went home at -30C. This is nothing new, yet it's pretty impossible to get used to.

The weather is pretty crazy everywhere. Sunday the high was 58F here, yesterday the high was 70F and today its 90F. Its very strange shopping for Christmas presents in tank tops and flip flops. It doesn't seem right.

Ahhhhhh ok - that makes sense. Heard about the warm weather down there. Too bad it didn't reach as far as High River. I'm sick of this cold weather already. Oh well, one more month then it's the sandy beaches of Hawaii
