this season was a big fat meh. I didn't even realize Elle was dead untill now, it seemed too good to be true.
I was kind of hoping Sylars absorbed powers would be gone after he was healed and he started next season with a clean slate instead of being Super-Sylar again. This show has a bad habit of repeating itself.
This is how the pacing of HRG's 'death; should have gone:
-Gets shot in the eye
-Claires bad acting
-Family gets ready to leave, threatens to tell the world about the heroes
-Dad comes back
-we hear his story.
Needed more dramatic tension, less dramatic irony.

I have to admit that heros is a let down to me. I didn't watch the first year, but a friend turned me onto it so I watched it on DVD, after that I had to watch this years. But its been one bleah lets introduce a new hero every week while pulling every cliche our of our ass type of season. Maybe the writers mailed in their work due to the writers strike.
Or maybe Southpark has it right and they use manatee's to write this stuff.
I'm getting way more enjoyment out of chuck, then hero's

Is anyone else getting tired of the whole resurrection thing? It was OK when it was only the cheerleader and even when they added Adam, but now it's getting ridiculous. They kill off a character only to give them some blood and bring them back.

I agree with Jiri to some extent . . . Nathan's assassination was waaaaay obvious:
(Paraphrasing) "I'm ready to come out with the truth. I ... have ... the ... ability---"
POW! Sorry, too predictable.
I didn't like the coffin idea, but didn't see it coming.
This season was absolutely terrible. The Micah and his cousin side story was unneeded. Stupid flying boyfriend was a waste of time. Crying Mexican siblings were an unwelcome diversion. And super healing blood? When will the circle of healing stop?
Just too many side stories which took away from the seriousness and intensity that was accomplished by the first season.
VERY disappointing.

I agree with most of what has been said so far about this season. I'm glad the season is over, there were too many storylines that went nowhere. I'm looking forward to next season and see what they do, I'm hoping they will go back to what worked for them in the first season.
Last night's episode was decent, I'm hoping that some of the heroes of this season don't return next year. Or if they do lets hope Sylar kills a bunch off that aren't needed at the start of next season so we can start fresh.

Poor Caitlin. Peter was intent on saving the future to save her, but once everything's righted, he completely forgets about her!
The episode last night was horribly rushed. It felt like they were trying to cram three episodes' worth of material into one. Still, it came off alright, and left things hanging in a good place for as long as the strike-imposed hiatus is in effect.

I thought Mrs. Petrelli's line, "now you've opened Pandora's Box" was very astute because that is exactly what the writers have done with this Super Blood thing. I thought they did an excellent job in season one of establishing rules - that Hiro can't go back in time to save people who had died - to make the stakes higher. Now there are none. Claire's blood heals everyone. Isn't that fantastic.
It seems like they wanted to shock us by giving us the Mendez painting of HRG being shot (it worked for me) but not have to deal with having the character actually die. It could have even been done better than it was with the same result, IE, have him just come back without showing his 'ressurection'.
Sylar totally should have been reset as well. A fantastic idea that I certainly didn't think of and I don't know if the actual writers thought of.
I don't think this was a terrible season - my brother described it as Everwood With Powers (ouch) - nor was this a terrible ending to it ... especially since I am sure it had to be ad-libbed a bit due to the writer's strike. Jiri, you must be smarter than me because I did not think Hiro's placing Adam in a coffin was obvious at all ...

Haha I waas wondering about this too! Peter finally saves the world again, and totally forgets why he was doing it in the first place.
Huge plot holes, everything was so rushed. Too bad.

Season was really flawed to begin with.
I remember reading an interview with Kring after the end of last season and it seems like higher-ups completely changed the vision of the second season.
Apparently, Kring wanted to do a season that had a completely new story arc with completely new hero characters. They would basically reset the series with new characters. He mentioned that some of the old heroes would be coming in and out but that they wouldn't be a main focus.
I think that would have worked much better. The problem with using the same heroes is that they get too powerful and there are just too many plot holes and stupid devices to control that.
Network execs probably had a fit when they saw that Hiro and Peter weren't going to be around and made sure the season was more of the same. Too bad it was a festering pile of crap.

I'm clearly in the minority in that I enjoyed the season despite its flaws. It's too bad that the strike messed up the timing of the show so we won't know how things should have unfolded.
Oh well.

I just imagine what this show would be like if the guys writing "The Wire" were writing this show. And then a little tear forms. This show could be soooo much better.

Every show would be. The writing on The Wire is just simply better than 99% of tv shows AND films.
Doesn't the final season start in January? I guess I'll be orderin' up Movie Central again.

Really, they show it on Movie Central? I'm looking forward to that show starting, it's a shame that it's the last season though.

Most of the HBO stuff hits Movie Central first - at least shows like The Wire, Rome, Deadwood, etc.
Kinda sucks though because apart from The Wire I won't watch anything else on the channel - but its still worth the extra money!

I thought that ending was leagues better then the ending of the last season.. The show is still a mediocre sack of crap though, but the potential is there if the writers stop thinking like morons..
I'll probably keep watching for Elle..

aw shucks .
i thought it would give more meaning to Sylars powers if he were to begin cultivating the powers of characters we were already familiar with. This would make him uber-evil and maybe they could sneek in giving him an actual motivation.

I wasn't overly joyed with the episode. Another episode where Claire cries, but at least she tossed the flying boy. I guess/am hoping that was his swan song. The 'battle' between Peter and Hiro I think was slightly anti climactic. The previews seemed, to me anyways, to build it up and it wasn't really much when you watched it, similar to last seasons finale, a lot of buildup for a lot of nothing spectacular. I do think they took some positive steps towards regaining some of what made the first season good. Sylar gets his powers back, though I don't like that it just felt very rushed. One quick injection and there's his powers back right quick.
I didn't like them using the healing blood on the Mexican crying girl. Why couldn't they have let her go? She's a completely useless character. Same with the cousin and Micah. Get rid of them completely.
Why do they have to give Elle the crappiest lines. First, the cliched, "Can we keep him?" and now we get the "That'll make daddy proud" stuff. It is rather annoying. She could be a decent character if they just knew how to write for her.
Is it wrong that I find Peter increasingly more attractive, but only when he's using his powers? When he was walking through the facility, taking everyone out, without breaking a sweat... It feels wrong, but also very right...

well i finally got around to watching the finale, absolutely terrible. this show was a one season wonder, and it seems like they're desperately trying to regain the magic from the first and screwing everything up completely in the process
and how stupid was it for Mohinder to tell Sylar that he needed to know what strand of the virus he had or the wrong injection could kill him. why not GIVE him the wrong injection and kill him? even if he was bluffing about that, he seemed way to cooperative towards a guy that is pure evil. with how self righteous Mohinder is you'd think that he'd do anything to stop Sylar from regaining his power, like maybe destroying the blood even if it cost him his life
seems like the writers didn't think through the story at all, they wasted so much time screwing around with the stupid mexicans and claires love story at the start that they were rushed for time and just plowed through the rest hoping for the best. i think it's safe to say that Heroes has jumped the shark
