I'm not really into men, but one time a chick called me 'Ironman' after a mini marathon in the sack.

I've done a marathon, and it was excruciating, even with all the training I did.
The idea of doing an Ironman has got me thinking, but I don't know... I'm not much of a long-distance swimmer. Maybe if the swimming part was done with water skis or tire tubes.
As for running right now, if you can't even run in this weather (it isn't THAT cold), you're not tough enough to do an ironman

When I saw the title, I thought it was of an Ironman tequila shot...
You know...you snort a line of salt, take the shot, and squeeze the lime into your eye
Hilarity ensues

Well - I did have a Hockey game to go to sheesh.
I'm looking at doing a marathon soon. Next step would be an ironman. Pretty intimidating though. I'm going to swim 4k in one go before x-mas. Once I know I can do that, then I know I've got 1/10th of it down haha.

I did one once. He wasnt happy. I wasnt exactly pleased myself. Iron against bare skin + friction is bad news all around.

Wow - I was wondering what other silly response I would get - this one is pretty good!
I wonder if it's the cold - but the board seems to have just gone these last few days. It's like everyone has been sitting around at home getting dumber and dumber, kind of regressing - myself included. Tomorrow will be an unproductive day!

Bigggg bump...So did anyone end up doing an actual 3.8km swim, 180km bike and 42km run Ironman?

Still wondering if Locke remembered to get a tetanus shot after his ordeal, and if 4x4 has subconsciously phased out the word "mini" from his vocabulary.
Anyway, I probably would not be able to do one. Maybe the marathon and the bike, but swimming is my weakness; it just leaves me feeling completely spent.

My sister has done one and I went to her race in Penticton. I'm not sure how they are able to do that. After excruciating physical activity, you go and run a marathon. Like wtf?
I think she did it in about 12 hours.

I knew a girl who did them. She was really active, but she did not look "fit" in the way that you would expect somebody who competes in them does.

A friend of mine asked me to do the Whistler Ironman with him at the end of July. I don't have too much of an issue doing the cycle portion. I know I can do 180km. My biggest issue is swimming as i'm not a strong swimmer. I'd have to practice that a lot. And then running a marathon after all that...yeah.

The swim comes first, doesn't it? At least you'd finish the worst portion first.
