I agree. Collinsworth used to be great on FOX as a colour guy, I'm pretty sure its just Gumble. I didnt catch much of it this morning, as I just heard it as I jumped in my car quickly to warm it up before running back into the house for warmth, but this morning on Sirius NFL Radio Shannon Sharpe was talking about how awful Gumble is doing football and thinks he should just stick with basic news. Sharpe was saying he wouldnt be able to do basic CBS News, so why does Gumble think he can make the jump to sports? I'd have to agree.
Even if you don't look at any talent comparisons and just grade voice alone, Gumble has the worst sports commentator's voice Ive ever heard. He sounds like my 10 year old nephew.

Gumble did sports years ago for NBC. It was a surprise when he moved out of sports to the Today Show.

But Gumble did the James Brown type roll on NBC if I remember right, not play by play.
It's absolutely shocking how bad he is, and that the NFL channel has kept him on, I just don't get it. I really like Collinsworth, he's got a big ball and chain on him right now being in the same room as Gumble.
I've also got concerns about journalistic integrity with broadcasters who check comes from the same source that is putting on the games, and paying the refs and so forth.

Yeah, he was the studio host.
And there were questions from the start about if the NFL Network were going o be a mouthpiece for the league or if they would run legitimate sports journalism. Last year they broke the story about Art Schell on the way out in Oakland during one of their game telecast, which wasn't something the NFL could have been too happy about (although if there was one team they might do that to, it would be Al Davis' team).

The Redskins left Sean Taylor's position empty on their first defensive play of the game to honour him.
Classy move

That might be the most pathetic hail mary pass, ever. It went about 20 yards.

Absolutley huge win for the Colts today, the defense looked an awful lot like it did last year in the regular season. They've been great all season though and it's time Peyton won a game for the team.
I posted earlier this week how much I hate the Jags, and they gave me every reason to again. Running there mouths all week about the Colts, one Jag calling out Peyton saying "he's a below average quaterback when he has happy feet." Looks like that was just the motivation he needed. I still can't get over how a team like the Jags can talk trash when they've spent so long looking up in the standings at Indy. It's almost as stupid as Vanderjet running his mouth about the Patriots a few years ago, except it's the entire Jaguar team.

The rant peyton did after the pro bowl regarding his 'idiot kicker' was pretty funny.

Well so far my long shot ties ticket looks good. Got my tie on the Jacksonville and Indy game! Now I need Cleveland to wake up and get it going against Zona here to keep my other ticket alive too. Come on Browns!
