Yeah, I read this back in September.

Mathematically if current models of quantum mechanics are right, parallel universes have been proven. Since the quantum state of something has the possibility to be anything, all those possibilities have to exist until it is observed. Once it's observed it becomes the universe that you percieve...but that doesn't mean all those other universes don't exist also, and continue to do so, where you observed it in another state.

So in some universe, the Flames have won every Stanley Cup since their inception.

Keep in mind that there is an infinity of possible universes, so there is none in which the Oilers win the Cup in 2006, as this clearly violates the immutable laws of both physics and hockey.

No, just a regular, brown box.

I think marrying Rebecca Romijn is the pinnacle of anything he will ever do.

"Commenting in New Scientist magazine..."

That's all you really need to read to understand the rigour and veracity of the claims.

Quite possible since the observation of Dark Energy has probably hastened the universe's death.

Yes, I read that yesterday. The evil scientists of earth have come up with a brilliant scheme of looking at the universe to cause and accelerate it's destruction!
