Looks like the leo's are letting double d go.

The veteran CFL pivot has already made it known that he wants to play next season.
|
Think Calgary is the place to play for him?
Should be a interesting offseason for sure, Im looking forward to seeing what the Stampeders will be doing.

I don't think anyone would advocate DD as a #1. If he was willing to come here as a #2 behind Burris for a couple years, and then move into a coaching position, i'd take him in a second. We can then still develop Barrick Nealy as our 3rd, by which time DD retires Barrick can move up to #2 and eventually #1 after Burris is done here.

yea DD is too injury prone to be our starter, he would have to be willing to take a pay cut and be # 2, cuz we cant have two $300k+ qbs on the same team. same goes for most teams in the league right now though, toronto may the the only team that would bring in a risky #1 at this point. DD may have to be a backup somewhere, and i agree that he could come in as our # 2 and move into a coaching position after a year or two, once nealy has gotten more experience. i just hope they hold onto nealy and give him time to develop, unlike in years past with the stamps

I agree, I want this team to develop Nealy and give him the chance a few years down the road to be the starter of this team. We need to develop QB's on our won like Wally does. That's why that team has so much success. You can expect a rookie to come in and light it up. They need time to learn and grow. Only after that can you tell if they will work out. But i'm definitely willing to give Barrick a shot. he's got a great attitude, from what i've heard and read about him a super nice and genuine guy that you just want to see do well. I really want him to deveop into the future of the Calgary Stampeders.

Dave Dickenson is ready to resume his career and the Toronto Argonauts are interested in his services.

Apparently the Stamps and Montreal are in the running to sign him too. As a Stamps fan don't want to see double D in anything involved with the Stamps unless it's wearing a suit in the front office.

I would want DD here as a #2 to Burris and keep Nealy as #3. Then next year move Nealy up to #2 if he is developing well and move DD to a coaching position such as QB coach. That would be ideal IMO.

From today's Sun. He might be brought in to back-up Burris, but he's received offers from Winnipeg and Toronto. Looks like the Toronto deal would have him competing for the number one job, but his home is in Calgary. It'll be interesting to see what develops.

His wife is from Medicine Hat, he has a house here and lives here in the offseason. He has many friends here, and it's the closest place in the CFL to his home of Montana.
I think the only issue about him signing here is if he would get the starting spot somewhere else. If the Stamps give him a decent offer, I bet he plays here.
Good to hear that the Stamps made him an offer. I had gone on thinking that they weren't interested because I never heard anything about it.

uh ya, talk to me in 20 more years when you win another.
In other news, Kerry Joseph is eyeing the NFL and frustrated with Eric Tillman for dinking around in contract negotiations. Nice to see things returning to normal in Riderland.

LOL this is just funny. Riders had a fluke year. Happens once every 20-25 years. I'd rather be a Stamp fan, than you very much.

QR77 sports show is reporting that the Stamps have a press conference tomorrow at 2:30 pm where they'll announce Dave Dickenson signing to backup Burris.
