Not sure if this has been mentioned, but for those interested you can watch most of season 2 on global's website. I just finished watching Monday's episode.

As someone as mentioned - if you can buy the fact that dude can fly - you can surely look over some minor plot holes - TV is more fun that way.
Frankly if its that bad why do you watch it?

I like good writing.
Good writing isn't necessarily intense realistic dialogue that effortlessly moves plot without seeming contrived delivered by characters which are rounded and believabily human all in the area of great human dramas.
Good writing can be simplistic things to do with superheroes and familiar moral archetypes. It just needs to make sense, it needs to be connected to how you and I would react and respond to situations. The scene with Elle was just sloppy stupid writing. All it takes is for the screenwriter to say in the script that they have her standing it water, or that there is some other method they are using to bind her powers. That's all.
I don't understand why people just settle for crappy stuff. It lowers the bar. Sure it can be 'entertaining' if you turn your brain off. But why is that a requirement for most modern pop culture?
Isn't okay to demand something a little tighter and better?
That's my point. Just write it cleanly and sensibly. It doesn't take a virtuoso to do so. And if plot holes are inescapable then, frankly, it's a mound of crap to begin with.

Nothing wrong with demanding better - but also nothing wrong with shutting off the brain for some escapsim.
I enjoy both types of TV Shows.
The Wire is in my opinion the best written show on TV and as you describe very tight.
But funny thing is no one watches it...which is beside the point.
I also enjoy mindless entertainment like Journey Man and Heros where you don't overanalyze it do death.
There's room for both in the hundred channel universe.

I think you missed the point.
I don't mind mindless entertainment. That's why I watch Heroes. It's mindless.
My point is that you can still have mindless entertainment without it being sloppy. The part with Elle and the handcuffs is an example of sloppy crap. Writers can and should do better then that. Those are needless plotholes that can be avoided and I frankly don't like overlooking them because it makes the whole thing seem fake. You go for immersion and that means maintaining basic consistencies.

Well, I liked the episode, but wasn't as blown away as others were, I expected more. For me, it's good tv when I can't guess everything that's going to happen.
I don't think the Irish chick was actually blond, but either way, I was referring to how you guys get Claire, Nikki and now Elle. We occasionally get a topless Peter. I want more darnit! And not another greasy hair flying boy!

I believe that was a quote from the comic book guy from the Simpsons episode 167 (season 8, episode 14) when he was making a commentary on the Itchy and Scratchy show featuring Poochie. Check. Mate.

I understand that. But really who cares. You either watch a show and try to find the plot holes, or watch a show and don't let that stuff bother you.
As someone said for all we know they had a tub in the car - I don't think we need to have everything spelled out for us.

I don't think it was as mindless as you make it out to be. From what I saw Elle was very much playing possum. She probably let on that the handcuffs were a true restraint when they weren't. In all honesty who would have though electricity could vaporize something like that. She just waited until the time was right for her then took control of the situation.
I do have to agree w/ some of the other posters though, you have to take shows like this with a serious grain of salt. Sometimes more like a whole shaker full.

Oh, right... Fair enough! My annoyance with Irish girl clouded my love of the blondes!
Nikki's character is kinda useless though, so that distracts from her hotness. The whole saga with her and her husband was annoying.
The black girl who worked at the burger joint was pretty hot too! Although her storyline was dull...

I find with a show about people with super powers, it's impossible to avoid plotholes.
I can think of several:
If Hiro can move back and forth in time, why didn't he just stop time, kill sylar, and then start it back up again?
And again with fighting Adam - why didn't he just stop time, kill him/kick his ass, instead of fighting a sword battle?
If Nikki has ridiculous strength, why was it such a struggle to get DL out of Lindermann's building in the finale?
I'm sure there are tons more. Especially with Hiro, when you give a character the ultimate trump card, it'll make the show really boring if that's all he did to do anything he wants.

Because he was trying to convince Adam to be a "good guy", that one was actually kind of explained in that Adam challenged him to stop time and cut his head off. Hiro didn't want to kill Adam at that time.

I have a question: why does Hiro's dad say, when he's about to get killed, "Of all the people ... I never thought it would be you," or whatever he says? If all those people in the picture locked Adam up and know he wants revenge, why would Hiro's dad be surprised that he came to kill him?
And other thing I never got - why was Mr. Bennett's alias HRG? Does that stand for anything? Just something I've never understood watching this show. I think I missed something.

Because he would have thought Adam was still locked up?

Holy crap can this show suck any worse this year?! What the hell happened? Did the writers know about the strike before they starting writing season 2?
Did a virus turn them all the main characters into idiots?
Sylar goes from scalping people to having picnics with mexican babes. hahaha.
