Thinking about heading to the Ship, may just head home though.
Either way arguably the biggest game of 2007 for the squad and the atmosphere at Wembley will be superb.

How could Russia lose to Israel? Croatia is a good team - England will have their hands full.
Did you see Scotland get screwed by the refs Saturday? What a travesty.

England team to play Croatia: Carson, Richards, Bridge , Gerrard, Lescott, Campbell, Barry, Lampard, Crouch, Wright-Phillips, J Cole. Subs: A Cole, James, Brown, Hargreaves, Defoe, Beckham, Bent.

Israel pulled off a miracle result for England supporters that is for sure.
I think England pulls off a 1-0 or 2-1 win after playing long ball tennis to Crouch, hopefully he can knock it down to Gerrard as though they were playing for Liverpool.
Good to see Robinson and Beckham out of the starting 11 for this one.

I was bummed that the game wasn't being shown live on Setanta sports. What the heck do I pay the $15 a month for?
Not sure where they would show the game in Red Deer. I'll have to phone around.
I see England winning this one 2-1 but are not exactly convincing in doing so. (What else is new?)
Look for Gerrard to have a stormer though.

Unfortunately I see this one ending as a draw. Gerrard, Crouch and Lampard have been less than convincing lately and England as a whole has been pretty tame.
Someone on either side is really has to step it up for this game.

SPOILERS!!!
2014: GOAL England 0-2 Croatia
I don't want to watch any more. Eduardo cuts in from the right and plays in Ivica Olic, who is kept onside by Wayne Bridge and waltzes around Scott Carson before tapping into the empty net. Comical defending by England. Olic was nowhere near offside.
2008: GOAL England 0-1 Croatia
Oh no. Scott Carson's first touch in competitive international football is to help Niko Kranjcar's speculative 35-yard shot into the net. An awful, awful error from the young keeper.

Both teams were quite screwed by the refs on Saturday. It was a shameful display of officiating and a great advertisement for computerized linesmen and video replay. Italy had a perfectly legitimate goal called back that completely changed the game. Even if that free kick didn't happen, and it ended 1-1, Italy is clobbering Faroe Islands and France is beating Ukraine. They were screwed either way.
I can't believe the lousy display England is putting on. What a travesty if they don't qualify.

Wow. Brutal or what? I'm used to being severely disappointed with the England team but if this one holds up then this might very well take the biscuit. They're given a huge let off by Israel and then this............. Can they turn it around?

Russia and Andorra are still scoreless, so if that holds, ENG still gets in. Not likely though.

Not likely. What is with England goalkeeping? Seaman, Robinson, David and now Carson....these guys are all solid in league play, throw the St. George's cross on them and they look like amateurs.

Scratch that - Russia has scored:
2040: GOAL Andorra 0-1 Russia
We knew it couldn't last. Dmitri Sychev puts Russia ahead in the 39th minute and as it stands, England are out.

Russia 1 -0 over Andorra.
That was quick.
In fairness, England still has a whole half to bring it back, and they could.
Step 1: Realize that Croatia is not a bunch of scrubs.
Step 2: Stop letting them walk all over you.
Step 3: Replace Carson with a pylon.
Step 4: Win game.

Croatia is not a lousy team by any stretch, but we're talking about England, boasting arguably one of the best 1-2 midfield punches in Europe with Gerrard and Lampard... there's no reason they should be down 2-0 right now. I would also sub out Lescott for Ashley Cole. Maybe swap out Crouch too...

McClaren is 45 minutes from the sack - Phil McNulty
2101: Here come the troops. Jermain Defoe and a fella called David Beckham are coming on in the second half. Gareth Barry and Shaun Wright-Phillips come off and we're back to 4-4-2. Frank Lampard - who scored 4.14 in the first-half on Player Rater - stays on.

If England had Scotland's keeper they would have qualified months ago. Gordon had an amazing campaign.
Funny how the whole of England doesn't have 1 good keeper. Italy has 10 they could lend out

Excellent point...
It seems like England really lacks the world class keeper to bail them out once in a while.
Scotland has Gordon. Germany has Lehmann, Hildebrand and Kahn. Italy has Buffon, Amelia, De Sanctis, Abbiati and even Toldo and Peruzzi. Spain has Casillas, Reina and Almunia. France isn't outstanding with Frey, Landreau and Coupet.... but I would take ANY of those goaltenders over Robinson or Carson.
