I agree the tea presentation from last night was pretty successful. Anyone on here actually tried it?

There is an update on season one in this article. It says only the salad dressing lady actually ended up signing a deal with the dragons.

I'd love to be on Dragon's Den ... as a Dragon.

Its understandable that 90% of the deals fall apart eventaually given that the Dragon's can only do the most cursory due diligence on the show...
It would be kind of cool if the Dragon's had access to a small fund say $100k and they could award it as a grant to promising projects to address some gaps. With the understanding that the projects would return later for another try at equity funding.
Also would love to see a pan-Canadian Dragon's Den for University start-ups and student ventures...

Blackeleven - yep, we're still in the Due Diligence phase of the deal-signing process. It's a long process and there's a great deal of information that needs to be exchanged before any deal can be done, and you guys are right - it's difficult for them to make a full-on promise to a company based on a few words on a stage. They need to fully check out every detail of the business to see if they are truly viable and feasible to invest in.
We're really hoping it all works out.
This is a great site here!

Another good episode...although Kevin (the bald sarcastic one) was acting a little like a 'crazy chicken' when he went off about the money telling him that dude was bad (although that guy did not look like a good investment to me either...the bottles though...if the IP was tight that is a solid product)

Been catching up on these recorded on my PVR. Do they record these all on the same day because I'm noticed the Dragon's clothes don't seem to change.
(Well, I noticed this mostly with the hostess - she's pretty hot)

I think that they record the show over a couple of days but make everyone wear the same outfits all the time so that they can edit and splice segments together seamlessly.
By the way if you like this stuff you may like this guys site www.seanwise.com

Easy, because he wanted the patent for the box design and had no interest in those two dufusses being business partners. He'll probably just make some different iteration of the same thing on his own anyway. That's how inventions work (The inventor gets screwed) when it comes to simple designs like that.

Didn't they already patent the design and had already signed a royalty deal?

because its not something that is going to revolutionize the pizza industry. Would it be nice if the box tore into plates?? yes. Am i gonna go to BPs just because they have the plate boxes?? well if i had the foresight to realize i needed plates i wouldn't need a box with built in plates would i?

I will be posting more later, but I am asking all of you for a Jihad favour.
A buddy of mine is on DD tonight. He is the Saxx male underwear guy. Now regardless of your personal views of him or the product, it would be great if you could vote for him to win the $50,000 after-prize.
http://www.cbc.ca/dragonsden/armchairdragon.php
He has spent at least that amount of his own cash up to this point, so any help would be great.
Should be entertaining...

Yep, that is Trent.
Went to MBA with him. First gave me his pitch last year while we were golfing, after almost falling on the tee block laughing, I realized why not? He is just crazy enough to make it work.
For the record, I have 3 pairs and it is always a good day when I see I have a pair of those sitting in my drawer. Luxury ride for the boys.
