Great jop Syl. However, you forgot to mention the race for Crosby.

It's not really nice to comment on who you think is going to finish dead last....But you are right after Florida and Tampa Bay there is a split and about 6 teams that could end up in the basement. I'd just like to see a team that has their own pick end up with the right to select first.

Actually, as everyone that has tried to deal me a pick in trade talks knows, I hate the draft. But it has been kind of fun not having my own pick, and being in the position the Hawks are in, trying to keep myself out of last. Just so the Panthers can't have Sydney.
Down here in the basement, we play our own little game. Who will be last? Who gets the 1st overall? Do you trade a certain player to a team and hope it makes them better, so they pass you, or pass another team? Do you NOT trade them a player, so they can't move up or down?
I don't have my pick, I have the Stars. Sure I hope Dallas falls falls falls to the bottom. Sydney will make excellent trade bait.
Another *positive* about not owning your own pick when you live in the basement, is that you don't purposely tank your own season in order to aquire the better pick. With the Panthers owning mine, I am working hard to make my team better so Dave won't get Syd with my pick, just as I am sure the Stars are happy to not be last and have me get the 1st overall.
Just some enlightenment for you those of you that have never had the opportunity to dwell in the dungeon B-) [/b][/quote]
The fact that Dallas, Chicago, San Jose, and Pittsburgh don't own their own pick does make for an interesting finish in the bottom of the CPHL. Really it's almost like we have a lottery in place and finishing last doesn't guarantee the crown jewell of the draft. Really I honestly can't say anyone has outright rolled over and played dead hoping to tank. So congrats to the GM's for keeping on fighting.
